| Do you feed your baby dry or wet food? or both? I have been mixing Shadow's food (purina one w/ ceasar) but he is not eating the dry food. Is it bad to feed your dog wet food only? thanks. |

| Baxter only gets dried food - I'm not sure if that's good either - but from what I know - the dry helps their teeth - I guess wet as long as he/she gets bones too would be OK - Not sure- My vet suggested dry - |

| I feed wet and dry. I dont mix it I just leave the dry out all day. If you are going to only feed wet you need to clean yoour furbabys teeth with a product like Petzlife.

| its not bad for them. it has the same nutritional value as the dry. The only difference is the moisture. That's what my vet told me. Plus you HAVE to brush thier teeth morning and night if they are eating wet food b/c there's no kibble to scrape and clean the teeth.

| From what I have read only wet food is not good for the teeth. The kibble helps the teeth stay free of tartar buildup. Buddy eats only dry food mixed with home cooking, veggies and chicken. If your pup won't eat dry make sure he has lost of hard toys to chew on. |

| No wet food is not bad, many feel it is better because its less processed. Its a myth that dry food cleans their teeth. However ceasers is not a good dog food, look here www.dogfoodanalysis.com. |

| I give Vinnie only dry Canidae, I get the All Stages and the Chicken and Rice to give him some change every once in a while.

| It is okay to feed only wet but you have to brush their teeth and/or make sure they are chewing on something all the time (I think this is true for dry also though). Wet food is less processed, so it is healthier. Of course it all depends on the brand for the healthiness factor. I would recommend that you go to dogfoodanalysis.com It really is a huge help in picking a qualty food. Oh yeah, Ellie gets Canidae kibble and homecooked.

| I feed dry food primarily but have been known to give wet food as a treat. My two cats get 1/2 a can of wet cat food every day for hairball control and their teeth are in great shape according to the vet (Ages 9 and 7). Lucky my golden has never really had wet dog food. I do mix cooked chicken, rice, and veggies into his kibble as a treat. Cozy my picky eater will happily eat the cats' dry food every chance she gets. I try to feed both dogs at 2 pm. Lucky will clean his plate and Cozy will pick at her's. Cozy will eat her kibble when hungry at 8 o'clock at night. She holds out hope of getting dinner time hand outs which she never get then will eat her own food. If your dog is hungry enough they will eat. Cozy is a trim, muscled 10.5 to 11 pounds so she is fair from starving. Both wet food and dry food is balanced but dry is more calorically rich piece for piece than wet food is but wet tastes better because is smells more.

| It's fine to give only wet food...In fact, it's highly recommended by many people because it's less processed and contains so much more moisture which is good for them. I think it's a myth that feeding dry keeps their teeth clean. In my opinion, it's like saying that eating crackers or something like that would keep our teeth clean. Just try to brush your baby's teeth often

| I have that same question. I started doing the same thing with Meka and she started to get picky. She tried to stop eating the dry completely. So, I just do wet/dry food mix, from time to time as a treat. Considering other options, but this will do for now....

| Canned food is actually better than dry food because it is less processed and has more moisture. Kibble is just so overprocessed... The key though is feeding PREMIUM canned foods, and Ceasar is crap. Find a premium brand like Merrick, Nature's Variety, California Natural, Wellness, Innova, Canidae, and there are others. Purina One is also not a very good dry food to feed..the same brands I listed have good kibble as well. It is not true that dry is better for their teeth. Would you expect to eat cookies and have clean teeth? No...it actually gets kindof gunky on your teeth right? That's because grains in foods stick to teeth and cause tarter buildup. By feeding a grain-free canned food, you'll actually cause less tarter buildup than if you feed a kibble with grains in it. You need to brush your dog's teeth regularly to keep their teeth clean. I really think raw diets are the best way to go - the most healthy for sure. Homecooked diets are the next best thing. But if you want to stick with canned or kibble, pick a premium product.

| Rather than give advise, I will make it simple. I give Gracie whatever she decides she wants to eat, THIS WEEK. I used to feed her dry mixed with some canned. She went on a kibble strike so I stopped throwing away the kibble that she picked out of the bowl. Then she went on a Merrick canned strike. So now she eats Ziwi Peak which is freeze dried meat. I mix that with some mixed frozen vegies and either sweet potato or brown rice. I'm not sure what you would call that, dret? Ha Ha. I also can get her to eat some canned Evanger once a day. I feed her the wing drumetts and let her chomp on the bones.
