| Ellie is a happy girl today. Because Ellie is so skinny (her metabolism is a mile a minute), the vet told us last night that she can eat whenever she is hungry. She is free fed anyway, but this means as much homecooked and healthy treats as she wants. My little piggy will love this.

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Hi - can I ask how old Ellie is and how much is weighs? I'm having the same issue with Izzy - she does not gain weight - she has only gained 3 ounces since I got her Memorial weekend and she has been spayed already. She was only being fed 2x a day with few treats (just for clicker training and potty training). Now I'm giving her more treats to put some meat on her bones. She is not a big eater.

| I wish I had that problem with Kalina! She is a chubb-o and hasn't been spayed yet. I call it her baby fat. She only eats 4 ozs of food a day (raw) and I give her dehydrated low-fat turkey strips for training but not many - maybe 1/2 of a strip per day. I think she's going to have a weight issue.

| Izzy Princess, Ellie is six years old and 5.6 pounds. She has a strange body shape for a Yorkie. She is not long like a weiner dog but her skinniness reminds me of them. How much does Izzy weigh? How much do you feed at each meal? Sookie, Ellie will take a little of that weight off Kalina's hands (paws). We saw a Yorkie at the vet last night that was overweight and they couldn't get him to lose. The vet said she wants Ellie's metabolism.

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | My three pound Lacie, eats all day and never get bigger. She is 6 months old and I don't think she's gonna grow much more. But my 4 month old Gizmo is 4 pounds and doesn't eat as much. They both are free choice fed.
