| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. If I were purchasing a puppy, I would ask all of the following: Do you offer a one year health guarantee against genetic defects? Do you test both parents for Luxating Patella, Liver Shunt, and STDs? Is there any Liver Shunt in either parent's line? Are these dogs AKC registered (if desired)? How many breeds do you breed (the best breeders are usually those who concentrate on breeding only one, or maybe two, breeds)? Make sure that all dogs live inside the house. It is best if both parents are on site. I would compare them to the standard of the Yorkie.

| Some of the Yt members here are really good breeders and get rave reviews. You can go in the yorkies for sale section and ask around. You can put up a price if you have a certain amount you want to spend. There may be someone close by you. Good luck with your search.

| Have fun and good luck. Take pictures if possible, because we'd love to see them. We'd also love to talk to you about the experiences of meeting these breeders, in case you have any questions or concerns.

| Is Wiltshire in England? If so then I don't think it's AKC over there. I don't think they dock the tails. I don't know if they take the dew claws off either. Anyway it's also best if they don't sell the pups before they are at least 12 to 14 weeks old. See if the puppies are playful and have clear bright eyes. Look at the teeth to see if the bite is correct too. If they have an under or over bite then they should lower the price. Good luck in finding your baby. Be sure to post pictures for us to see if you do find one. |
