| Poor babies This past week my boyfriend took me to New York for a wonderful vacation. While we were in Greenwich Village we went into a "pet boutique" to look for clothes and such for our little girl and there were a bunch of puppies for sale in the store. They all looked so sad and it just broke my heart. There were two little yorkies huddled up together and they were so skinny and sad looking. I refused to buy anything from their store and couldn't get the little guys out of my head that day. It made me miss my Madeleine even more than I already did and I couldn't wait to get back home to her!!!!

| Oh that's so sad! Did you say anything to the owners of the store about why you weren't buying anything there? I would want to, but not sure I would want to get into a confrontation while on vacation. I hope you had fun otherwise in NY

| If I ever went into a petstore with intentions to buy something and then saw puppies for sale, I would definitely make a point to let the owner/manager know why I refused to buy anything there. I went to the mall today and walked past our local "puppy store" (or Puppy Mill as I like to call it) and I looked at the ones in the window. There was the sadest looking Chinese Crested (hairless) puppy in the window. I was shocked to see a Crested in there in the first place. But this poor puppy looked so pitiful! His skin was so dry and flaky (you really have to keep their skin hydrated) and the white hair on top of his head and ears were stained yellow from being kept in a kennel and I guess laying in his own urine. He looked so discusting. And he was cold and shivering (they get cold so easily since they are hairless). Poor puppy..I can't imagine anyone buying him, but I'm sure some uneducated person will. I hate stores that sell puppies

| I didn't say anything to the owner, but I regret it now. I should have said something. The worst thing was that there was a little girl playing with one of the puppies in a pen. I just hope she didn't buy it. I should have spoken up

I kno, so do I. That reminds me of today. I had the girls with me and this girl asked me if i bought them or got them from a breeder....I said "Yes I bought them from a breeder" and then i said not to buy from petstores that the puppies are usually sick and come from puppymills. She said "Mine isn't sick". She said she got her from a petstore downtown. I was like "Well you're lucky"
