| Which way did you tape your yorkies ears? i think i may need to tape Kieles ears but i have been researching and there are a couple of different ways to do it http://members.aol.com/CYorkie/TapingEars.html http://members.cox.net/jrogan/ears.html and others. i have cut the hair off her ears and thats not working. Also what tape should i use? i heard of someone on here had to have her pups ear amputated because he was allergic to the tape. thanks! and if yall have other ways yall do it please explain and post pics!!! |

| I was worried about my new puppy's ears because it looked as if one would stand up but not the other one. When I carried him to the vet for shots I asked him about it. He told me to wait a couple of months before I got worried about the ears but if they didn't stand up he had found if you put a tiny drop of super glue on the inside of the ear and mashed the sides together they would stand up and by the time the drop of super glue wore off the ears would be standing. This sounds like a much simpler solution that taping. Hope this helps. |

We superglued paper to the insides of her ears a long time ago, that only worked while the paper was in her ear, then when I took them out they flopped. So what has worked this time is just plain old masking tape. Works like a charm. You wrap it around the middle of the ear, after you have squeezed them together so that they are straight/upright. Wrap the masking tape around the middle of that a couple of times.....stays on for quite a few days. First, though, have the ears shaved very close, a third of the way down the ear.....that's what really helps. | |

| I tried both ways, and neither worked for me. I hated leaving the tape on there, so I just started massaging her ears whenever she would come lay on my lap. They stood a few days after I started doing that.. and of course I kept them shaved |

| well skoshis was easy i just cut the hair around his and then massaged them and they came up maybe a few days later. but kieles dont seem to be going up even a little bit more. super glue? what if they mess with their ears so much that they rip them apart? sounds easier but just wondering? |

| You just put a tiny dot of superglue on the inside of the ear, I am dangerous with superglue because I get it all over my hand no matter how hard I try but my vet said I could bring Gleason out there and he would do it. I think if they started to scratch their ears it would come apart because of how little you would use. |

| You just massaged the ears? That sure sounds easy enough. What does it do? Strengthen the muscles? I will sure give that a try because they are beginning to come up a little anyway. Thanks for this info. |

| We always used tape to keep ours up. You just have to be careful taking it off, or you'll hurt them.

| Avery's ears were always down as a lil baby and then began to flop..then one was all of a sudden ALWAYS up and the other was still floppy(which was so cute-but i didnt want it to be like that permanently) SO we trimmed her ears WAY down(at about 3months old) and a couple days after that.. they were both up for good. She is now 4.5months old and they have stayed up since!! i would try cutting the hair on the ears, and wait a day or two(see what happens), if nothing.. then i would consider taping or doing other things to help them stay up. BUT i have heard SO many people(including myself) say that shaving the ears alone works. Good luck!!
