Pita and the Kitties We had a drama a couple of weeks ago, one of our barn cats had kittens coming breach, so we had to have the vet deliver them, which I hate because I have soooo many cats running around my property I don't need more, I especially don't want to pay for more!! but what can ya do? I couldn't let her suffer so anyway... these kitties are Tarzan and Jane and they are in my laundry room with their mom until they are old enuf to go outside ( the mom is young and had some healing to do, otherwise I have cats outside not in) Pita doesn't know what to think of the kitties but when mom's not around she likes to get in with them and bump them with her nose like she's trying to get them to run around, I have to really watch her cuz she puts her mouth around them, I think she's trying to play with them like she does with the ferrets. It's cute, I can't wait til the kitties are old enuf to play with her.

The kittens are precious!! But can you not fix the kitties? I had a stray come to my barn and of course I fed her and she presented me with a litter of kittens too. I did get her and all the kittens fixed and now I have 5 barn cats. And have had only 5 for 8 yrs now. If you don't want to pay to fix them all there are organizations that will come and do it for you. At least I have seen the ads in my area, maybe you can check into that? Good Luck! |

Yes, I do get the cats I can catch, fixed, throught the animal birth control, this one got missed cuz I she was pregnant already when it was time for her to go to the vet. Some of the cats are so wild I can't catch them so we keep getting more kittens, also they seem to come out from the woods! We do what we can. I found 4 in the engine of the truck(we hadn't started it yet) and took them to the pound so that saved me some trouble this year.

Good for you for providing them with a home and getting them vet care when needed.

Thanks, for the encouragement, I get very discouraged sometimes, it's so overwhelming and I'm not sure if I'm helping the problem by feeding them or making it worse!!
