| Help! I'm in the process of potty bell training, and I think i'm going about it all wrong . Can someone please post step by step potty bell training techniques or include a website I can go to for info. He's doing better as far as training goes (he's peeing in front of the door now ). This leads me to believe he's begining to understand that he's not suppose to go outside. But if i'm not in the room I can't let him out and the kids are focused on other things and really aren't much help. So any advice would help me out ALOT! Thanks in Adavance..... On a lighter note he did learn a command . I say down and down he goes!!!! It only took a day for him to learn. How long should I wait before teaching him another command?

Therapy Dog Donating Member | This is where I got Izzy's bells and it has tons of info on this site. Well - look at the brightside....he knows that it's by THAT door.....I know....it's hard to hear them ringing the bell when they are that little....that happened to me with Izzy - I was in the kitchen and she must have rung them and peed in front of the patio door..not her fault...mine for not listening. http://www.poochie-pets.net/

| Pepe Mint has Maggie trained with bells. You might want to check with her. Mine were a 1 1/2 when I adopted them - so I never had this opportunity - but I've thought for the last month that maybe I could somehow train them now to do it -- ?? don't know if after all these years I could teach them a new trick. I just watch for them to go to the door because neither of them bark to go outside!

| He's not ringing the bell when he's peeing in front of the door (I wish) but he rings it all day long to play with it then I end up taking him outside 20x a dayand I don't think he learning anything that way. I'm on my way to check out the site that was posted.

Therapy Dog Donating Member | If you go to the site that I posted - one way to get them to ring the bell is to put some peanut butter on the bell - that might work for you.

| They'll run you ragged when you're training them, because they will ring them all of the time whether they need to go out or not. The key to success is to take them out every time they ring the bell. If you don't, I don't think you'll succeed. I know it's hard! Believe me!
