| Urgent, Please Help, Anybody!! Hi People, Please help me. I am a travel guide and my old folks take care of my 10 months old male Yorkie. The reason why this is so urgent is b/c I am a travel guide and I have to leave next week again for a month or two. And I noticed something strange about my Yorkie. Since about a week ago or so, he began to have bright yellow or very thin light yellowish feces and sometimes white and its texture didn't look very normal, it kind of looked more like styrofoam in texture than his normal brown or dark brown feces. At first I thought it might be something he ate, then it became kind of continuous. Today too. He also has some trange color feces that he didn't have before, like bright green and then dark red! I am more worried about white feces. I read on line that it can be something very serious internally. I also noticed that "HIS" right lower stomach in the corner has a small bulge. I dont know what to do. I am panicing. Please, does anyone have any info?? White feces is not normal, is it? Let me know, please. I don't want my Yorkie to be sick.... Thank you so much.

| All I can say is call your vet in the morning. The only poops I've seen out my dogs are brown and firm, so I can't give any advice. But those symptoms don't sound good at all! |

| Dogs on a BARF diet get white poop it's due to all the bones they eat. For poop to change colour like you describe I'd imagine he's eating something to cause it. But I think if I was worried I'd call the vet and make an appointment especially as you have noticed a swelling. |

| Did Maximus eat a Greenie or any kind of treat that is green? That could cause the green poop, but I've never heard of white poop either. Is he having diarrhea lately? It'd be best to get take him into the vet tomorrow if you feel a weird bulge in his stomach. Perhaps something is caught in his stomach and he can't poop it out, thus the thinner poop. Does Maximus feel heavier the past week or so? |

| I dont know. I am totally panicing. I did some research and I found some info about bile duct obstruction due to problems in pancreas or some other things. According to what I found, if the bile duct is completely obstructed, he will have pale grey or whiteish color feces. It's not every time (he poos twice a day) that he has white poo, but it's continuous and I am so scared. I will call the vets office tomorrow morning. But I dont have insurance. Do you know if I buy petco.com insurance, if it's is effective right away? Thank you for your support. I am so scared for him....

| No insurance will cover you retrospectively. So as you have noticed the problem before taking out a policy you won't be covered. |

| If you do not have the money to pay the vet bill right away, most vets will set up a payment plan. They are not going to turn your baby down in need. Please let us know what happenes. Good luck! |

| Poor Maximus!!! I hope you are feeling better soon!!! Luigi sends some puppy love!!! And the vet will work with you on your bill. When we 1st brought Luig home, we were at the vet about 10 times for him being sick. And we had almost 2,000.00 wrapped up in to the whole thing. We charged 1/2 and put us a monthly plan for the other. I truly do hope Maximus will be ok!!!

| I would definitely take the pup to the vet today. Since you are in LA, there is probably a vet clinic or SPCA - something non-profit - where you can go for inexpensive vet care. Here in NYC we have Bide a Wee and they only charge $32.50 for a visit. Good Luck |

White feces is not normal. It could indicate a bile obstruction (ie trouble with the liver, galbladder). I would take him to the vet ASAP especially since you mentioned the bulge to his abdomen, I'm thinking an enlarged liver maybe. Hopefully this is nothing but only your vet will know for sure after running some lab work. | |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I totally agree on this - I just did some reading - MANY or most vets will let you work out a payment schedule - and if it comes to it - just show up and tell them it's an emergency and they shouldn't turn you away - it sound like he REALLY needs to be seen asap Good luck with your baby ! |
