| "a little extra padding" well, the verdict is in. the vet says maggie has "a little extra padding she could stand to lose". 11 months old and on a diet LOL he said just cutting back the amount i feed her a little will do the trick. plus, she is handicapped right now so she really doesn't get as much exercise as she normally would so, we will cut back the food LOL

| Maggie, I like your extra padding. I'd love-bite it if I were still at your house. Love, Maya

| Kalina is chubby too and she's only 5 months (almost!!). The way she eats I know I'll have to be very careful with her. I homecook for her, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong (or right, maybe??) since I give her something different all the time. I can feel her ribs, but she's pretty solid.

| well, i cut her food back a bit for dinner and she has gone around licking the bowls of all the other dogs' food. she is acting like she is starving. but, i guess it will be best in the long run. poor thing....

I have a tad bit chubba bum myself! he is only 5lbs though so I feel like making him weigh less is awful, but really he is quite round! haha I think he needs to lose a 1/2 lb!

| i think a 1/2 lb would make all the difference in the world for maggie. I am not sure how much maggie REALLY weighs because of her cast...i'm sure it adds quite a bit. but I'm guess she is right around 5 lbs without the cast. but she has a pretty good size frame. so i'm sure she would put weight on very easily if not watched good. so i will have to be careful with her food. as it is now, i have always let her "graze" through the day because i was so scared of the hyperglycemia thing. we had a bad scare when we first got her and i have been so careful to make sure that doesn't happen again. but, i'm sure we are ok in that department, and i will just make sure she eats when she is supposed to and limit how much i give her.
