Luvs Lulu Donating Member | OK I gotta vent here about rude people Yesterday I took my kids and Lulu into the city to work with me. I usually take them to my hair dresser in the city to get their hair cut before school. Anyhow we had Lulu. This other hairdresser starts on how cute she is. And then proceeds to ask me what breed she is. SO I say she is a Yorkie. She then proceeds to tell me that another hairdresser there has a Yorkie and if I was sure if my dog was a purebreed. Like WTF was she looking at. So I was like yeah she is pure and I am good friends with her breeder and know her dogs so I am sure that she is pure. Come to find out when the other hairdresser comes he is like yeah I have a Morkie. You would have thought that seeing as she saw that I was pissed over her stupid uneducated comment and knowing her behind was wrong she would have at least come with a "my bad"....nope. It just amazes me how ignorant people are and that they speak without thinking. The way she said "are you sure that is a pure breed or did they sell you a mix" you would have thought she was a freaking yorkie expert and knew what she was talking about...jesus. I wanted to slap here.

| Yeah...I really wish if people didn't know something, they would just say they don't know and definitely not try to act like they know everything. I called to make my Himalayan an appointment at the vet a few months ago. The receptionist that answered the phone asked me what kind of cat I had (actually she said, "is it a domestic short haired or long haired?" as if there are no cat breeds...). I told her I had a Himalayan. She then asked me if she was short or long haired. I asked her if she knew what a Himalayan was (because I know not everyone knows about every dog and cat breed out there). She said she did know what they were but there was a short and long-haired one. No..they are all long haired. I remember thinking why didn't she just say she didn't know what it was instead of just assuming.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | You would think working at a vets office she would have some damn knowledge or learn something as she works there. My vets office only employs vet students. So they are knowledgeable about things.

| I'm in vet school now (just finished my first week!), and as part of one of our classes this year (correlates) we actually have to learn all the different dog breeds, cat breeds, horses, cows, pigs, and I think goats. I don't expect everyone to know how to identify every breed. I just hate when people assume..if they don't know what something is just say you don't know. I worked at a grooming salon/dog boutique for the past two years (both part and full time) and there were a couple of times that someone would call and say they had a breed that I was unfamiliar with. I had to put appointment down according to size so I'd just tell them I was unfamiliar with the breed and ask about its size and all. People just look stupid when they assume wrong..

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | It just spazzed me out. Then the thing is that she kept on over and over about how she is probably a mix. I am suprised one of my daughters didn't tell her off.

| She had to have felt stupid thinking your yorkie was the mix when it turned out that her coworkers "yorkie" was actually a yorkie/maltese mix

| Yeah, people really need to study the breeds before they make any comment on the breed type. It offends people!!! |
