Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | SHELTER Dogs on HBO If anyone gets a chance - this is the BEST show on HBO. It's called SHELTER DOGS and it will REALLY MAKE YOU THINK and probably cry too. The woman running this shelter is just awesome - I wish everyone who is thinking of giving up their pet could watch this....It may make you want to run to your nearest shelter for real... |

| I have seen that before..it's very good. Everyone should watch it if they can. A few years ago I saw a documentary on PBS about the plight of the greyhound. I believe it was one of the saddest stories I have ever seen. I think it was called "Run for Your Life". The dogs literally run for their lives. If they don't win, have enough points they are euthanized. Thankfully Greyhound rescue has stepped in to help place some of these gentle creatures. Greyhounds are typically gentle , sweet natured dogs. The film even showed the last race of a young female whom wasn't winning. It was her last chance. They then showed them taking her in and putting her "down". They just led her in and she followed quietly with trust behind them and then they gave her the injection, it showed her gentle brown eyes looking at them and her tail wagging very slowly. It was horrible..it still makes me upset thinking about it.
