| You can let him roam a little if you're watching him, because if you don't he's going to tinkle, or poop somewhere. You want to catch him when he start's so you can take him right outside, or his wee wee pads. Definetly crate him when you leave until he's housebroken. WELCOME TO YT!

| I still keep a harness and leash on Molly in the evenings while she's in the house. I can sit in the floor and hook it on my arm or foot, and she can roam a little bit, but I can keep an eye on her. Another hint that saved me some cleaning...I had an old plastic lined tablecloth that my son used for painting when he was little. I put that on the floor while she played in the evening, especially when she was little. It was easier to clean accidents off of it than the carpet! Molly is my first inside dog. I've learned a lot on this board!! |

| You can let him out for periods of time but watch him closely

| Hi and welcome little Rocky! Today is day 12 of having Addie for us and I still don't know what to do, this site has been such a great help for me too. I am having trouble potty training, I will let Addie out for 10 minutes and she does not go (unless it's the first thing in the morning when she gets out of her crate), but she waits to come back in to pee..... Have I somehow trained her to pee in the house? I give her treats when she goes outside, help!! |

| Hi, and Welcome! I wouldn't let him roam around, especially if hes not potty trained. Keep him in specific places, that is easy to clean up messes that he leaves behind. Also, the key to potty training is taking them out a few times an hour! Good luck and keep us updated on how he is doing. |

| Have you taken him to the vet to get any shots? I let mine go out, didn't let them go places where other dogs were. |

| I would wait, but once they get there shots I would let them go in your yard. If the maltese lives with you, then its def fine for your puppy to be around it. |
