| Advice Please Hello everyone, I love YT so much and I seem to find answers for most of my questions the more I read. I do have one question and I am not sure if all Yorkies do this or just mine. I am a first time Yorkie/dog owner so not sure if this is normal. Kiki is 8 months old (5.5 lbs) ... she is constantly walking with her face on the floor looking for things to eat. She will eat anything she will find in the house so needless to say I vacuum almost every day in the rooms she stays in just to be sure there isn't something on the floor that could casue her harm. Outside is just as bad, if we turn for a minute, she will eat sand, rocks, acorns and then I grab her and pull them out of her mouth. I literally have to walk at a very fast pace with her so she won't stop to eat junk off the street. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. http://www.dogster.com/dogs/511397 |

| Does she know "drop it" I guess that would be what I would try or do something to get her mind off of it. Are you sure that shes hunting for things to eat, or if she smells other animals? |

| We have been sayin "drop it" when she gets into something she shouldn't but she is very quick to grab things and chew them. I don't know about outdoors, but inside she is the only pet so I know she isn't sniffing other animals. |

| Hope is the SAME WAY! She is a "hunter".... lately her thing has been to find WORMS when we go for a walk... I have to watch her like a HAWK and when she is caught she HURRIES to eat whatever it is that she got ahold of... I think it is their hunting gene coming out.... Good Luck to ya'lll... d

| Join the club. I have kept a collection of stuff I forcefully removed from Kalina's mouth. I think I posted a picture on YT at one time. The "collection" is much larger now and includes bugs, stones, sticks, golf tees, acorns, leaves, earrings, zipper pull, etc. If anyone has an answer to the problem I'm all ears. She doesn't respond to DROP IT...she just runs away faster.

| I don't know a cure for it, but Scooter does it so much that now, when I say "drop it", he'll walk over to me and open his mouth, because he knows I'm going to reach in to see if whatever he's picked up is still in there. I'm terrified he's going to pick up something really bad. |

| I have to vacuum everyday, because Penny will eat anything she see's. One time when I was sewing she jumped up and grabbed a straight pin. I almost had a stroke. Needless to say she's not aloud in the room when I'm sewing.

| do you carry food into the room? our dogs will lick the carpet obsessively if you even drop a crumb. also, have you ever noticed that dogs follow the same pathway? she may be sniffing out her route and if something is in the way, she acts like a shark and "tests" it to see what it is. |
