| Milo's ears won't stand He's three months old now and his ears are still floppy. Will they ever stand? They did for a few days around 11-12 weeks but went down again. I don't really know if there's anything I can do to help him out.

| My Zoey's ears went up and down so many times, we lost count. She is 5 1/2 months old now. They look like they are up for good. She just went through some heavy teething, I think they may be up for good now. We never taped them, just tried to keep the hair trimmed short. Dont worry, they will most likely go up on their own.

| ears shave the hair off the complete ear, inside and out. He will look funky for awhile, but the ears should go up in a week or two. As the ear leather gets stronger, then you can let the hair grow back. I use a Wahl peanut clipper or a 5/8 small blade on my Oster. Good luck, Lynn |

| You can keep the hair short on them to try and get them to come up but remember that when they teeth the ears go up and down all the time. Also not all yorkies ears go up, some just don't. It doesen't matter unless you want to show anyway. |

| I would tape them for a few days and see if they stand up after that. Shave them first though. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | When I got my first yorkie I had no clue about ears standing and was just in love with my new puppy to even think about it, so his ears do not stand erect. With my second, I knew better so when I thought that her ears might not stand on their own, I taped them up using masking tape. Shave the hair on the ears before applying the tape. Leave the tape on for at least a week, take it off and see if they remain standing. It may take a few trys but it works. Lexies ears are up and stay that way. I've read that if you haven't gotten them to stand by 6 months of age, it probably won't happen and that while they are teething they tend to flop a little. But taping does work...Lexie is proof of that! Good Luck

| Sweetie's ears didn't stand up all the time until she was about 8 months old. We did shave them and that seemed to help. It was so funny because her ears flopped down all the time except when she was asleep - then they stood up fine.... Have patience - it's not too late and even if they never stay up it's still your baby. Cyndi |

| We had this happen with Avery (recently). Just trim the hair on the top part of the ears(front and back)-trim it way way down. Then i blended the rest of her ears, by trimming(just a bit-with scissors). You shouldn't have to shave the WHOLE ear, if you dont want. good luck.

| Avery's ears were kinda floppy, and would be up and down.. (probably around 2 months or so)(Or only one would go up sometimes-which was sooo cute!!) then right at about 3 months.. one ear was always up and the other was down. -I trimmed the ears a little (but not enough to make a difference) So i trimmed them again (like i said in my other post) and sure enough that next day or so.. the other ear was standinng straight up, along with the other(this was about a week or 2 ago.. and have been up ever since.) She is 4 months old.

| Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I will shave his ears and try taping them and hopefully this will work. Even if his ears don't stand ever, I would still love him the same, but I would like for them to stand if they can. I will have to shave and tape his ears when he is exhausted I guess because he never sits still :P I was thinking about having a groomer or the vet do it, but if I can do it myself then I will.

| I got Bella when she was 3 months old and her ears didn't stand either. I ended up shaving the hair off the top half of her ears. It still took a while before her ears stood up. It was a gradual thing and now, at 4.5 months, her ears are both standing all the time. I attached before and after pics if you want to see.
