| FUR REAL, DOG: Puff Daddy Coats Using Dog Fur? Ladies and gentlemen, prepare to possibly throw out your winter jacket. Because if you happen to be the proud owner of a Sean John puffy coat with “fur” trim, there’s a slight chance that fur is actually made from the skin of a dog. Or so says the Humane Society of the United States, who is claiming that Macy’s is selling the coats under the guise that it’s “imitation rabbit fur”, when the label inside the coat claims it to be “real raccoon” — and not the adorable rabid raccoons that scour your trash for last night’s dinner, but raccoon dogs… DOG FUR COATS! So is Puff Daddy, who claims to be the designer behind Sean Jean, the Cruella Deville of the new century? The jury is still out, test results are not back yet, and we won’t know for sure for a few days. So we’re going to ask you, the readers, what you think. Go to the coat closet, reach your hand in, close your eyes, and feel that fur trim on the hood of your Sean John jacket… does it remind you a little bit of Sparky, your childhood Yorkie who went to “live on a farm” when you were 11? Because we smell a big controversy here, and it’s got wet dog stink smeared all over it. Looks like dog fur to me click the link and check out the pic for yourself! http://www.bestweekever.tv/2006/12/1...using-dog-fur/ |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | He's taken alot of heat his so called 'faux fur' that is actually Dog and cat fur it's DISGUSTING ! and good for you posting about this - It's been out a while now that he uses Dog and if people saw HOW they kill those poor animals they'd throw up. It's horrible I hope people NEVER Buy anything but real 'Faux' Fur labeled 'MAN MADE Synthetic Materials'....but sadly alot is still coming into this country & we as jerks are buying it (not us - the person who doesn't care) I just don't understand why it's taken so long for them to prove it's dog fur - this was on the news bigtime last year |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Great post! I heard about this not too long ago and was totally freaked out. One story said they had already pulled the coats from the shelves. Whatever the case is, he needs to stop!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | You're not ignorant - we all have to learn somewhere - it's horrible what they do to get fur - it isn't just the racoon 'dog' - which technically isn't a dog - but it isn't a racoon either - http://www.all-creatures.org/anex/raccdog-01.html THIS IS VERY VERY Graphic - but you can go here to see what I mean- these poor animals are slammed to the ground - beaten and skinned ALIVE http://www.millbusters.com/forums/showthread.php?t=604 the fur trade is disgusting - there's alot of info on the net and ALL would turn your stomach. |

My furkids Donating Member | I never heard of them before either! Are they a domestic animal? They are neat looking....I wouldn't mind owning one!! As for the fur coats....I have NEVER owned a fur coat in my life and NEVER will. I can't believe that they kill animals just so we can wear them. Years ago I went to a fur coat show with my cousin and Aunt....to say the least they probably won't ask me to go back lol! I (very tactfully) gave the woman a peice of my mind and then walked out. I have read where they actually have farms where they raise minks just for coats... Sickening!

The raccoon dog, Nyctereutes procyonoides, has a striking resemblance to a raccoon, but is really a member of the dog family, Canidea, and is unrelated to the raccoon. In the wild, the raccoon dog ranges in the wooded areas of western Europe, Russia, China, and Japan, and as far as Nova Scotia in North America. They are native to south-eastern Siberia, Manchuria, northern Indo-China, China and Japan. They were introduced to western Russia, mainly for hunting purposes, and have since spread from Russia to Scandinavia, Germany, and France. There's fur farms where they're packed into tiny cages until they're killed in brutal ways - ALL FOR US TO WEAR. When there's FAKE fur that looks exactly like the real thing - there is just no excuse for this. same goes for the rodent family - minks - chinchillas - the fox -- all are being slaughtered in the name of 'fashion' | |
