| Question about heat??? Although the weather has cooled down here in NYC a bit, lately the weather has been very hot. My question is this: If it 80-90 degrees how safe is it to keep the dogs out for an extended period? I like to take Chewy to the park with my son and I do take food and water with me. Will he be OK? |

| I'm in NY also..so I can relate..Maximus is panting after 5 minutes.. (I swear)...but I bought him a chilly bone and a cooling mat....and I took him out with us for about 1-1/2 hours to the park by the house..I brought extra water (half frozen) to refill his tupperware (I use small tupperware as his food and water dishes when we go out) with and his carrier so he could go in it if he so choose and get out of the sun. I will tell you that after about an hour he was pooped..lol..he just went to lay his panting self down..lol...also I sprinkled teh grass with water and he just laid down in the wet grass..it seemed to cool him down..if he gets really hot I heard to put water on his underside (legs and belly)..that is where his veins are
