| My Baby Mattie has an Eye injury! Oh my goodness! I have been crying off an on all day. When we got up this morning I noticed that Mattie right eye was all matted with goop an shut. First thing I thought was.. Oh now, she has an eye infection. I got a warm water wash cloth and tried to get what I could of the goop off. She cried all the time. I waited till 9:00 to call my vet. She said to bring her right in. I was crying in her office. She took some drops and looked into her eyes an right away said.. She has an ulcer right smack dab center in her eye. I asked her what could have happened. I never noticed it last night.. Her and Max was just playing away an running all over. She said it could have happened then. Anything could have happen. She could have done it herself.. or Max could have scratched her with his toenails .. or etc. I feel so bad.. he gave her an antibiotic and eye salve.. I feel so bad for my baby. She must be feeling better because I caught her in the act of tearing up kleenex in shreds an little pieces. I took some pictures because she is ! you can't scold her. Enjoy the pictures an Say a Prayer for my little girl that it will heal okay. I take her back in a week if I think it's not getting better . Sorry this is so long. I had to come to YT and get my fix plus have everyone say a prayer for her. Thanks YT for all the great people on line and The prettiest an best Little babies in the Whole world . |

| Isn't it amazing how they can get away with just about anything when they've been under the weather... That and the fact that she's too cute to get mad at! I'm glad she's better!

| If your puppys eye is not better don't wait a week. Take her back in a few days if it is not better. I have been thru this before and in 2 days when his eye was not better, I was uncomfortable with how it looked so I took him back in to have it stained again and he needed emergency surgery. He had a "melting ulcer". Not trying to alarm you but if you see no improvement do not wait a week please. If I had I do not think my Rio would have his eye today. | I bet her eye heals right up with the medicine. When I got Oliver he had some green discharge. His eye became cloudy and he wouldn't open it. One vet told me he had a juevenile cataract. Another vet said it was an ulcer. I actually took him to the doc I work for (internal medicine for people) and he diagnosed him with some big word for swelling in his little eye. The drops worked and he was just fine. I sure hope your baby's eye heals quickly. Good luck.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Poor Baby!! My first Yorkie Karma, tried to get under my parents chain link fence and badly ulcerated his eye. The vet said if it didn't heal he would need to go to the University of Illinois Vet clinic. But with the salve and drops my vet gave him he was fine and it healed perfectly.

| And I've heard the the "chewing up kleenex into tiny shreds" is great therapy for almost anything that ails our Yorkies!!!

She will be fine if those pics were taken after her booboo My Rio didn't hold his eye open at all. She is a cutie. I just did not want you to wait a week like the vet said, I found out from the surgeon a week would have made a BIG difference in our outcome. Good Luck!! | |
