| Post-Spay Questions 1) Do the stitches on the outside dissolve or must they be cut by the vet? 2) How long after being spayed must you wait to give dog a bath? Thanks in advance!!! |

| OMG I am on the same boat with you right now. Holly got spayed last Tuesday and her stitches are coming out this Friday (10 days). She reeks right now. I can't stand it. But I have to wait for them to take the stitches out. I have been washing her face and I applied some detangler at least. But I am used to bathing her every 3 days or so. It's killing me.

| I forget to mention that it has been 7 days since her surgery and her incision has closed up but the stitches are still visible on the outside. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Being as small as she was our vet didn't want to use melt away, glue or the staples. He used meltables on the inside and regular gut sutures on the outside. We had to take her back a week post-spay for their removal and after that he said it would be fine to bathe her. They come back a bit hospital smelling post surgery so you can take a warm wash cloth and wipe her girlie parts if she needs it and her face.
