Hello we are new here Hello everyone, We are new to this site. I am Laura and I have two lil yorkies. Max is my male and Lucy is my female. I joined because, I just found out yesterday that Lucy and Max are going to be parents within the next month or so. I have never had a dog have puppies and to be honest this is not a planned pregnancy, I tried everything possible to keep them from breeding, the panites, putting them in seperate areas apparently it was useless because they found a way...lol Anyway, I am looking for any help with what to expect. Lucy is very grouchy with poor Max and she generally is so sweet and loving to him. I am very nervous about this because Lucy is normally only 3 1/2 lbs and I am affraid that this could possibly hurt her? The vet yesterday seemed to think she will do great but, I am still nervous because she is my baby. The vet wants to do a x-ray on the 16th??? is this normal if they think she is going to do great??? Any help would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks in advance, Laura, Max & Lucy

| Welcome to YT. I'm not a breeder, but I've read a lot about people having their furbabys during pregnancy, so I think it's normal.

Gosh... Why didn't you have her spade or him neutered???? I keep my girls in cages when they are in heat taking turns being out of the cage and boys in.. A 3.5# yorkie should never be a mom... This is really awful... You may need a c-section..I know lady just lost her 5# yorkie had 6 pups ruptured uterus! I'd never breed a dog under 6#. You will need to watch her very carefully and keep her under vets care..Gosh.. best of luck to you and your tinny girl...

Welcome to YT. I'm sure you are scared, I would be too. Sometimes our best intentions just don't work out so we carry on and do the very best we can with our furbabies. There are alot of breeders on this site who I'm sure will give you the best information on the special needs of yorkie moms to be. My baby is spayed but I still find it very interesting to read their post, the site is a loaded with information. Good luck

Very Scared I talked to the vet about getting her spayed at the first of the year and she said to wait until she had her second heat and see how much she grew in the mean time...I know because she is so tiney and it is very dangerous but, the vet seems to think she will do great...what ever that means. I still don't understand why she needs a x-ray if she will do great? Thank you all for your well wishes...I am very nervous but, I have alot of faith in their vet. She said if she thought there was chance it would hurt her she would tell me. She did say to pray for more than one pup?
