| Daycare? I found a woman in my area that does doggy daycare in her home...what kind of questions should I ask? This is my e-mail, so far, but I don't want to miss anything... Hi Gail, I have some general questions about the doggy daycare that you provide. How much is it? I'd probably do a daily/weekly rate because my schedule is generally the same from week to week. I'd probably need to start sometime between Sept. 4-6th which is when I go back to university full-time. I have one very tiny female (fixed) Yorkie, she's 8 months old. I'm looking for a brother for her, though, so by the time we would need to start I may have 2 small dogs. Also, is it just you in your home with the dogs or is there other people? How many dogs are "enrolled" in weekly daycare at the present time? Are they all small dogs? Do you keep large dogs in the house? What is the latest I can pick her up (latest I'd need would probably be about 7:30pm, but I haven't got my schedule, yet so I'm not positive). And what's the earliest I could drop her off in the morning (I'd probably need to do it about 6am a couple days per week & about 7:30am other days, but again...don't know yet). Her website (www.petspawlodging.ca) doesn't really answer too many questions. Thanks

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | I would ask if she requires all dogs to be UTD on shots/Rabies, and if they are required to be on heartworm preventative and flea meds????

Thanks! Great suggestion. I don't want my baby catching anything while she's over there.

| Since Chloe is so small I would ask if she has had any previous experience dealing with tinies..she might not know how fragile they really are!

She doesn't eat by herself (spoonfed) so I can't imagine leaving her that long.

| I work at a daycare so here are some of the questions clients ask me: Can I bring a blanket with my scent on it so my dog feels more comfortable? Are the dogs walked? Do you do temperment testing before letting dogs play together (to avoid any injuries)? What is the daily schedule for the dogs when they arrive at daycare? Just a few that I though of off the top of my head.

| i'd ask if she has other staff. It says she offers grooming.. well who is watching your dog while she grooms??? i've learned quickly that grroming is long and labour intensive. Also do you bring your own food and treats?? is there an areas your dog can go if she wants to get away from the others.. this may sounds stupid but can she had a nap time somewhere.. Layla NEEDS a nap every afternoon or else she is a walking mummy.. i put her in her crate and she has a 2 hour nap.. this is also the case at her babysitters. i would also ask about temperment testing to make sure everyone gets along. |

| me again.. she sure offers a lot of services to people who are gone on holidays, in their house... i'd be definitly asking who is at her house with your dogs when she is doing all of this.. she doens't mention that she help.... too bad you didn't live in London. Layla's babysitter is the best. It is just Layla and the babysitter's lab and labradoodle. SHe home cooks and makes all of her treats.... move |

| She doesn't eat by herself (spoonfed) so I can't imagine leaving her that long.[/QUOTE] You'd better make sure that she can handle the extra work that she will take. I wouldn't want her neglected. Can you (or have you) visit ahead of time (like a home visit) to make sure that the other dogs look well behaved? If she's tiny, an overly playful pup could easily injure her accidentally. Good Luck!! If it works out, she's a lucky pup to get to go to "camp" every day!
