| Fraud. Please be very careful when responding to folks with a sad story about a lost or recently deceased pupyy or adult Yorkie that they need a replacenment for. These folks ask you to give them the dog, breed a female for them or all sorts of things. Get information from their before you fall into such a trap. I give away 1 or two puppies a year two deserving folks. I have several folks who have been calling me with a sad story that changes every several months. I started keeping a record of phone numbers and names and email address of those who want a freebie and will check my list before I return their call. You would be suprised that the folks are just changing their story. I gave a beautiful female puppy away with no papers- I got a phone call from her new owner- not the sick child with cancer who wanted a Yorkie to love. The jerks got my baby free and resold her. The new owner has paperwork (not by me) that states papers will be provided with full breeding rights. I gave the baby away with no papers. A friend of mine was contacted by the same couple with a sick child wanting a free puppy. I have tried to buy my baby back with no luck. Be very careful. |

| Oh gosh, I am so sorry for you. When I was looking for my baby, there was a lady in my area that was doing something like that, I was watching ads really close for months, she would beat me to every pup with some kind of story, then I would see the pup for sale a few weeks later, when I'd alert people with pups about her they thought I was just trying to get the pup for myself. I finally got in touch with her - her reason? The pups just weren't suiting her. People like those you dealt with really make it hard for peple like me and I applaud you for what you are doing. I had lost my little girl which aggravated some heart problems, the resulting hospitalization really set me back financially and I was miserable without my baby. Please don't let this prevent you from helping others, there are a lot of needy people out there. You have a heart as big as heaven! I finally found my little girl, and I feel so much better now. | I am so sorry wnalegria that your graciousness has been taken advantage of and appreciate you taking the time to advise others when their guard might need to be up. It's hard when you feel taken advantage of, but you sound like you enjoy doing for others and are a giving person. It would be a shame if other's took away this characteristic of yourself.

| You are a very sweet person. I am sure this rolls over into other aspects of your personal life as well. I have found throughout my life, people you like and want to help will sometimes take advantage of your generosity. I would go from helping everyone to helping no one, feeling like a martyr. Like you seem to have done, I finally came to a medium where I try to be careful who I choose to help. It is rather sad, but there are a lot of people who want everything handed to them, and take advantage of those of us who are willing. Keep a big heart and give to those truly deserving. There are a lot of people who are not trying to take advantage of us, but do need us desperately.

| Wow! When I bred, I gave away puppies to people I know free with AKC paper. For people with sad stories that were recommended to me but I don't know them, I would reduce the price of the puppy a lot and I let them do payments. But I do give them the AKC paper with limited registration(I don't see why I bother, nobody registered their dogs). I had one that I sold, paid me $25 each months for 8 months!! But they came to see the puppy every week! After I got to know them better, I gave them the puppy after a couple of months and told them to send the payment each months which they did. I'm not as kind as you are. I don't think I that trusting that I would just go out there and give away a pup to people I don't know. Heck, I even very picky who I sold my puppy too. I guess that why I'm not sad that I'm not breeding anymore. I worry too much over my puppies. |

| Thanks for that warning. When I breed mine I will be very very careful where I place them. I love to do things for people, but it really pisses me off when someone tries to con me.

| WoW We live in a sick cruel world. The only ones on the earth that don't have to worry about such issues amoungst themselves are the animals. Thanks for the heads up.

| That is awful that someone would stoop so low but I still think you should be proud of yourself for being a good kind hearted person. I am sure your act of kindness will come back to you in a different way. Thanks for the warning

I ask have been asking for a vet name when folks say that their puppy was Ill. I am trying to make sure that I do not get burned again. The Make a Wish Foundation is another good source. If they say the baby was lost or stolen there had better be advertisement placed in the newspaper trying to find that kid with their phone number. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2000 and it just burns me when someone uses a disease like cancer to scam folks. They have no idea what a family goes through when you are trying to stay alive for your 4 -legged and two legged loved ones. | |
