| another attack! My mom's YorkiePoo was attacked today by a big dog in her neighborhood! She does not know what kind of dog the other dog is. I don't know if any of you remember my story of Mimi and how my mom got her. She is my moms "gift". We beleieve that she came into my moms life for a reason and they were meant to be with each other. As of right now this baby is facing being handicapped for her life. The big dog picked her up and shook her like a rag dog. Puntured a hole in her belly and spine. She is in ICU possibly awaiting surgery right now to her spine to try to save her from being handicapped. My moms hubby was walking the dogs on a leash and a neighbor was bringing their dog from the car to the house without a leash and the dog broke away and went after mimi. Please everyone pray for her, I know this probably makes NO sense, but Im so upset right now! Pray for her and her health, she is not going to die unless she gets an infection with the belly bite.. but lets hope the vets and surgeons can fix her spine and leg!

| I'm so sorry to hear that. My bichon/maltese was attacked by a huge dog about a year ago. She got of the house and I could hear her screaming from inside my house. She was OK, but tramautized for a couple days. My heart almost broke, and I just wanted to help her, but there was nothing I could do. I felt helpless. I'll pray your Yorkie does OK.

| So sorry to hear this. These things can happen so quickly and it's hard to even imagine unless you've been in that situation. I was recently walking my 2 dogs and a german shepard charged out at us. I have thought about it so often having read so many threads and I always thought that I would do this or that but it just happened so fast that I couldn't get my hands of Zoe by the time he was at us. She of course thinks she's a rottweiler which makes things worse. Lucky for us, the shepard was interested in my collie who is much more able to take care of herself and they just sniffed each other and things were fine and of course I was finally able to get my hands on my little rottweiler wanna be. I was shaking and my heart was about ready to beat out of my chest. Thank goodness things worked out for me but I guess I just wanted to say that these things can happen so quickly and it's just so sad as there really is almost nothing you can do |

| I no longer walk my dogs in my neighborhood because of this reason. We repeatedly had unleashed dogs approach us on our walks. I just couldn't continue to take a chance. Luckily I have a large fenced in back yard so they can still run and get exercise. I'm so sorry about Mimi, I hope she recovers fully and quickly. I'll say a prayer for her. Let us know how she does.
