| Problem: Diarrhea I have looked through many posts to try to solve this problem to no avail. Zowie has puppies 3 weeks old. I had to be out of town for a couple of days this weekend and when I returned I found she had diarrhea - watery. Now 4 days, she is eating, drinking, feeding the puppies (still gaining weight). I gave her Immodium AD twice yesterday - no change. Nothing solid comming through. I will take her to the vet tomorrow, but just looking for help tonight if there is something else I should do?

| from what i understand it is just a good tool to help make poop solid (this is only what i have used it for) (but someone else mentioned usuing it if they were constipated too... havent done this one though)...... i havent noticed any gas problems.... it deffinatly doesnt cause them to have diareah, it firms up the poop ....... i dunno the specifics all i know is that it worked for toby when i had him as a pup and it also worked for my friends dog haley |

| not to be detailed and grose.. but i cant tell if my puppy had diarreah.. his poop has been soft, soft enough to where i can't just pick it up off the carpet without leaving marks.. but its not runny, its like inbetween... and then sometimes at the end of the poop, just barely a little bit more runny.. is this diarreah? i havn't changed anything on him.. i dont understand why his poop is like this... or is this normal???? |

| Dena - When my pups were young their stools were a little more on th runnys side thats what yours sound like. If he does have diahrea you can give 3ccs of keopectate. Thats what my vet had me give Chachi. His was watery.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Has your baby been checked out by your vet to see why this is happening ? Are you feeding a good food also ? no milk products or anything like that ? I just re-read your post and it said you ARE going to the vet - it could be a parasite or something else - it's always better to get the tests run when they're little and also - GIVE Pedialite as water so your puppy doesn't get dehydrated ...maybe a little Nutracal also ....good luck ! |

| When I first got my puppies, their poop started to get softer, harder to clean up. They were eating the same as the breeder had fed them. I finally bought bottled water for them, and gave them immodium AD, it cleared up in a couple of days. I gave them the bottled water (2 gallons), then went back to tap.
