| Help why are my two girls fighting all of a sudden? I have 3 dogs, a Yorkie, a Yorkie mix, and a Maltese. The Maltese is 8, the mix is about 5 and the Yorkie is almost 3. The first two are my dogs, the Yorkie came to live with me after my son and his fiancee could no longer care for her. (though she had spend alot of time with us anyways). As I have posted before, the Yorkie and I have a very special bond, the rare kind that happens with animals every now and then. She demands more attention than the other two, who are just more independent. I love all 3, but the Yorkie has my heart I have to confess. That said, I try and treat them all the same...same food, same treats, same walks and they have always gotten along fairly well Actually when the Yorkie was younger, an annoying pup, the older dog coudnt stand her and would growl at her, but now she just ignores her. The yorkie mix has always played with her and I always felt she was so glad to have a playmate as the older dog never wanted to play with her. However, in the last month the Yorkie and the Yorkie mix have been fighting several times a day. All they do is look at each other and the fights start...fairly vicious. The Yorkie has always had a strange habit of when she is playing with the other dog, she might nip at us instead of the dog. During these fights recently though, she had bit me several times when I pick up to get her out of way.Today she broke the skin and bruised me fairly badly. She is the sweetest, most loving dog most of the time, and never has bit anyone in anger, but this seems to be getting worse. Its gotten so I have to walk them seperately even. I just dont know what to do or why this has happened. I know I cant let the Yorkie get away with this biting, event though I dont think she is trying to bite us but rather to get at the other dog...no excuse, of course, but still. I would love to give this case to the dog wisperer, but since thats not possible, I am looking to all of you. Any ideas? Laura |

| When I got married my husband brought an adult female dog into my home with an adult male and female. The two females fought like that any time there was any food around them. We had to feed them separately and when the food bowls were taken up, they were ok around each other. I don't know if there is a food issue with yours but I just thought I would share my experience with my fighting females.
