fabric or leather? soft or structured? I'm looking for a carrier. There are so many choices out there...canvas, fleece, leather, hobo sling, purse style, airline approved...ugh! I think I've determined that I would like Lexi to be "somewhat" incognito when necessary (Walmart here we come!), but would mostly like to let her stick her head out and see what's going on. I think I want a bag that closely resembles a purse and I KNOW that I want the smallest one I can get away with (she'll be max. 6 lbs when she's grown). With all that said, if you have a carrier for your furbaby will you share what you like/dislike about it. I would appreciate makes/models, too (pictures would be great). I've already put hours and hours into shopping on the internet and finally broke down to visit Petsmart last night but they had NOTHING. I am somewhat limited because I live in Canada. Thanks in advance for your assitance/suggestions.

I bought the large size BESSO jelly bag off ebay. Mine is cream colored. Has a heart shaped window in the side with mesh inset and mesh double zip top. Carries like a large shoulder bag. My Mia will be around 4.5 - 6 lbs so got the larger size - still not big. I pd $3x.xx + shipping - retail is $130 here. Since it is purse like it is easy to carry and she can stick her head out or you can zip snap shut to keep her confined. I'll try to get a pic of it and post. I also have a front pouch - not concealing at all, and a "car carrier" that would definitely be too big to carry around, but is soft and not large, just not my idea of transportable. HTH Julie

my mom made a purse that could act like a dog purse! It is made out of mesh with a band of pretty fabric around the side... How much better can it be? It was free, it was custom made, and it fits a dog and acts like a beach bag at the same time

All the Walmart Stores in our area, MA & NH do not allow dogs in the store unless its a "service dog". Don't know what the policy is across the rest of the US.

Most of the dogs here come from Mexico, which is why my Mia came from FL. | |

Yes, around here usually dogs are not allowed in Targets or Wal-Marts, but if your Yorkie is small enough, or in a bag, usually they don't mind. I think they don't want the larger leashed dogs in their stores causing havoc, but to restrict those big dogs, they have to restrict all dogs.

Let me know when you post it! Would love to see it! I brought my puppy in Wal-Mart and the next time I went to do it, another person stopped me and wouldn't let me bring her in. Can't see that it would hurt if your not in the food section. I won't leave her in the car. She is too cute and am afraid someone might break the window and steal her. So, her outings in the store are restricted to when I just run into get gas or something really quick! I hate it, as I would like to take her everytime I go somewhere. Pat

Well! Get on the Ball! You need a Yorkie!!! Maybe for Xmas? That would be a great present even if you had to buy it for yourself! Hee! Hee! When I bought my birds, I came out of the store singing "Happy Good Day To Me"! What the heck we need to be good to ourselves once in a while! Let us know when that happy day arrives!

I called on a few yorkies yesterday... and i asked the breeders if they had any for around $500-$600 and they laughed at me !!!!!! ... and the one i did find for $600, the guy didnt even speak english and when i asked about a health guarantee he said "whats that" .... I'm waiting until after christmas because the prices will go down for the puppies that didnt sell for christmas.. and yes! i will probably be buying this puppy for myself! BUT in all fairness, my boyfriend actually took on a SECOND JOB!! just to help me pay for it!!!! (But then my car broke and we used the money to fix my car).....lol........ but its the thought that counts right?
