| Traumatized Baby My baby had a very bad experience yesterday at the groomer. This was his first trip. I had been afraid to take him since he has never had his hair dryed with a dryer, and I could not stand the thoughts of leaving him. Well he needed it bad. I checked around and was recommened to a vet that had a good groomer - yea right Never again. They gave him something to calm him down - I think they put him to sleep. My husband dropped him off and was the one who picked him up. He was so mad. When he picked his baby up (my dog) he was very upset. This baby was traumatized. I mean it was horrible. He was so scared. He would not eat, would not get an inch away from you. Not only was his actions pitiful He looks like a beagle with a lion head. No joke. He has no hair. They told him they had to cut it that short to get some mattes that were too close. No they just didn't know what they were doing. I had even asked that it not be cut short. I had to re-cut his ears. They were ridiculous looking. Even where they cut it short it was gapped. I can take the hair cut, it will grow. What my baby went through upsets me. I had asked all the right questions and had been told they do a good job. This trip cost me $50, which I was willing to pay if they had done it right. Oh, I almost forgot, his nails were not clipped very well. You can hear him on the floor. Please be careful when it comes to picking a groomer. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | OMG - Does THAT make me mad....your poor baby ! We had a similar experience and let me tell you - her boss heard from me as did the VETS office they worked out of ...the bad groomer she went to that one time actually HURT her....She cried pitifully on the way home and I KNEW they were rough with her....I was so upset by the time I got home I couldn't think straight. The way I got Chanel past being scared of the car...the groomer etc ....was to start taking her INTO groomers for a walk thru - then leaving.....Visit another GROOMER - walk around...then leave - NO GROOMING...just visiting and letting her meet the owner. it REALLY helped her for the next time I made an appointment but man...after that experience ....I was HOT....you should call and tell EVERYONE what you think happened - they can easily be too rough and tramautise your yorkie so much that they'll be very scared even to go for a simple ride in the car. I'm so sorry this happened to your baby - |

| Awwwe, the poor thing! You'll have to spend some time helping him get back to his old self. Don't baby him the whole time or he will take longer to come out of it. Does he like to go outside? For a ride? Try to fill his little mind up with all good things again. Poor little bugger. Wishing him the best! |

I want to see how he is and looks before I take Asia on monday. It will be my babies first trip. Plus I think it is time Asia and Banya meet. They have been smelling each other on Tom for 3 months now. |

| I hope your pup feels better, I hate stuff like this. I have been hearing a lot of tales like this lately and I'm wondering...is it legal for someone to give your dog a tranquilizer without consent??????? |

| I hope they didn't give your baby something! If they did, I would be ringing someone's neck. May be his next groomer will be better.

| OMG thats my biggest fear! Im so dreading getting him groomed... i really want to find a good place. I went to this one place in Brookly, NY its called PUPPY PARADISE is a petstore, supplies, and groomers all in one and they actually let ppl see how they groom the doggies but i personally didnt like how they treated or handled the doggies. IF ANYONE IN THE NYC AREA KNOWS OF A GOOD GROOMER PLZ PLZ PLZ SHARE YOUR INFO.. i will so appreciate it |

| I'm so sorry for your little guy. I am so lucky to have a groomer in my neighborhood that does the grooming out in the open so you can watch if you want. I always stay, but keep out of sight of Benji so he doesn't get all excited and fidgety. They are great there and she does such a great job! It comes to $40 something with tax..I always give $50 with the change as a tip. I am really blessed with these girls. I will never leave my baby again to get groomed. I left my Angel Muffin with two different groomers and I was upset the whole day. It shouldn't take hours to get groomed and they should let you stay. When my son was small the barber was out in the open and I could watch...same thing. Sorry to ramble, but how about finding a groomer that comes to your house. Try the yellow pages or Craigs List. You might have to pay a little more for a mobile groomer, but hell, it's your baby. That is what I would do if I didn't have this great situation. Good luck. |

| The day I bought my dog home we took her to the groomers at petsmart. I just don't understand why a groomer would be administering sedatives at all. From what I see the things they put the dogs in are sedative enough. Hope your dog regains his normal spunk soon. |

| I agree with Villette. I have been shopping around for a good groomer, that is good with puppies. You would think I worked for the FBI, because of all the questions I have been asking. I have been trying to get Maggie, use to being groomed. I bathe her weeky, brushed every night, rear end hair clipping. I haven't attempted the nails..Not that brave yet. I have now found the perfect groomer. Believe it or not, it's called Groomingdale's. Hopefully when she goes, I won't be posting a EEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK my baby is BALD.
