| Well with my baby, I take the measurements from the following areas. body, from neck to bum around the neck around the midsection height space between the two from legs, or chest area from there I can get the size I need. Lenght and width seems to be the most importian as far as the actul dress designs, I am working on that now. I know an e collar (xxsmall) has a good patteren for a skirt. the shirt I use, is kinda like a tank top I should have the patterns up somehow, fairly soon, untill then I can send you pictures of what it looks like in the process hope that helps some

| an e collar or cone collar is usually found at your vets. It is the cone that wraps around you animals neck to keep them from liking or biting an open wound or surgical site. I used it becasue when laid flat it have a nice shape to it for a single side skirt. I cut it out, and hem the sides, gather the top and attach it to a shirt. It is the basic shape I used on the pooh dress I had posted I will get picutes ready of the steps and post them asap

| Ok, Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop and help....can you tell me what you use to comr up with the harness/vest part of the dress? I guess I would just cut a little on each side for the velcro under the tummy.....like cut the shape of the e collar and then leave " tabs " on each side to sew the velcro on? I know you can only explain so much....lol but, I REALLY want to learn. I bought a shirt pattern from macall's they call it a jacket, but its what I would use for a T shirt......my Mom sews and said I would need a serger to do the t shirt correct. She has never sewn doggie clothes, but said she could with a pattern...so I am going to show her your pics and ideas and see if I can pick up the sewing gene........lol I never wanted to learn until I had yorkies, have spent a small fortune on clothes. I am opening a doggie bakery, mainly B'day cakes and clothing for dogs, perfumes, gifts, etc.... I have two people so far that I will carry their lines, but I could sell to my customers cheaper if I learn to make a few things too. A happy customer is a returning customer Angie Angie |

| Ok here you go! Examples of the dresses I am working on, and the pieces. Tops and bottoms! This should give you a better idea of what I was talking about. I have several fabric posted on the other forum for sale, showing what I can use to make dresses now.
