| OK...need some advice.. it is almost time to go!!! I am going to be leaving as soon as my groomer calls and is ready for Shelby & Seymour. Both my Yorkies have very LONG coats. First of all, let me say that I don't mind grooming them daily and keeping up with their coats. But I have been considering a puppy cut for them, but am a bit unsure. I know that it would make caring for them a bit easier. Opinions????? Maybe something that is an "in-between" ? It is really hard to decide!!

| I LOVE the puppy cut. Here's a pic of Munchkin with her puppy cut. Maybe I like it cuz I'm a guy, but I think its absolutely cute, and low maintenance. It takes me about 10 minutes total to wash and dry her. She gets groomed once a month. What more can you ask for?

| Oh, and one more thing. With a puppy cut, if you don't like it, then you can always grow it back out!

| I did mine kind of an in between... at least if you don't like it shorter , it won't take as long to grow back out and if you really like it . you can go shorter the next itme even the in between is a lot easier to take care of. trying to type this fast so i hope it is readable.

| I am in the same situation. But now I have to. Holly had a long coat and it was really really shiny and pretty. But she went into heat and I started putting a diaper on her. The hair would get caught and mat up and I'm sure it wasn't comfortable for her. Well I had to do a little trip myself since the groomer won't take her cause she's in heat. I tried doing a straight line but I'm not expert. I'm just waiting for her to get done and I'm taking her for a puppy cut. She's 8 months, I figure if I don't like it, it'll grow back eventually anyways. Plus, I'm more concerned with her comfort than the way she looks to others as she would be beautiful to me either way. I agree that it's a hard decision though. But oh well, it only hair right. Good Luck with your decision. let us know what you decide.

| I would do something inbetween. A puppy cut might be too drastic for you. A cute cut I have seen is where the body and beard are medium length and the topknot area is shorter. Then they parted the hair. I dont know what you would call that cut.

| Big Chicken is back from the groomer!! I got to the groomer and mentioned getting shorter cuts for Shelby & Seymour..... AND..... I CHICKENED OUT!!!! The groomer started to ask about the type of cut and I told her.... that I changed my mind. She said that she understood my dilema.... I feel like such a "wishy washy" gal!!! Normally I can make a decision and go with it.... and deal with the results of the decision that I make........ but with my Yorkies..... I just can't be so "forward". I think that they have me wrapped around their little long-haired paws!!! Maybe next time......

| WE got Hallee and Gracie shorter cuts, but not as short as puppy cut. The up keep is so much easier. Less tangles and less food they get in their hair when eating. I think they like it shorter.

| i only have two in long coats. The rest of mine are in modified snauzer cuts. I am not too lazy to care for them but I was growing them out and they have very thick coats. As soon as it started getting a little hot, I noticed my poor little things suffering with the heat to the point they wouldn't even play when they went out to potty. i cut it off because i wanted them to be comfortable. |

| I love the puppy cut, but if their coats are long I'd try something in between, so you don't go into shock. |
