| sleeping pattern Sissy wakes us up everymorning around 4am barking .We let her out of her crate thinking maybe she needs to potty.Nope, she just wants in bed with us. After about an hour of being there she will get right in my face and bark wanting to get out of bed and look out the living room window. My husband and I are tired of not being able to sleep in. Sissy nad Rocco both slept in bed with us until about 2 months ago. I guess istead of keep rambling on I will just ask.Is there a way I can break her of her early rising? What is your babies sleeping pattern? |

| i think it is going to take a few rough days of letting her bark in her crate until she gets the idea tat you aren't getting out of bed yet.... try putting a towel over her crate to keep it dark so she doens' think that because it is bright it is morning.. and just tough it out |

| Ugh! I feel your pain! Tucker wakes around 3am every morning and wants in bed with us. Luckily, once he's there he'll sleep until we wake up but I would like for him to sleep all night long in his bed (although I do love snuggling with him). Unfortunately for us, we live with my father-in-law right now so we can't let him bark it out. That's what I plan on doing as soon as we get into our new house though. Good luck, I know how hard it is!

| The "CAN" worked for us! I just had to do that once, and Gizzy settled down and went back to sleep. I try not to overuse "the CAN" because it will lose it's effectiveness. Now, all I have to do is say "No" in a firm voice if he happens to wake up and whine and he settles down. I find it easier to correct if I catch him before he starts barking. If I can nip it at the whining stage, that works. But it will be tough for awhile. I feel your pain, and lack of sleep! PS the "CAN" is just an empty soda can with a few marbles in it. I shake it and say "No" very firmly.

| When Chelsea came home to her forever home, she was 8 weeks old. At first, she slept in a crate, in the utility room, but would whine/bark alot, so eventually the crate was moved to our bedroom. This stopped the "crying" only temporairly, then it started up again. I would get up and bang on the door to her crate, while raising my voice with the commmand, "QUIET". I also, covered her crate with a large beach towel, so she wouldnt see daylight. She quickly learned to be quiet until we were ready to get out of bed. Now, sometimes she is the last to get up, and start our day. Worked for us, hope my suggestion works for others. Good luck!

| Well, I don't care who it is I want my sleep! I do cover their crate at night and I really don't mind her waking up so early wanting in bed with me its just that she won't stay in bed for long. Sometimes it would be nice to sleep past 5 or so. |

| Going through the same thing, but I put her in the crate next to my bedroom, and she stays quiet all night. Yeah! |

| Now Deiter he will wake us up early if we put him in his pen at 4:30 to go potty, but if he sleeps with us he doesn't do that he will sleep until 7 or 8. My boyfriend says it is because he sees daylight. Where in the bedroom it is dark with the draps. So I guess you can say that I am going thru the samething. Except Deiter does go out to go potty but then just doesn't want to go back to bed he is up for the day. |
