| Yorkielover_201. Are you raising money to have a pet or is your parents buying you one?

| My advice for you is to save up your money. Don't go on shopping sprees or anything like that if you truly want a puppy! The shelter idea is a good idea though. I saved up over $300 to get a Yorkie and I am only 14. That is all birthday and Christmas money. I paid for half of my Yorkie and I still have money left over for all the things my baby needs. My mom is paying the vet bills, but only because I do good in school and I got scholarships to go to high school. Good luck! |

| 201: Are you absolutely set on a yorkie? Are your parents open to having a pet? What about a family dog like a lab or a low maintenance breed. Lots of families have dogs and everyone chips in to do something. My 6 year old son gives Chewy fresh water and a scoop of food when he comes home from school every day. At the end of the week I give him $2.00. A dog can be a wonderful addition to a family and it can bring you so much joy but everyone has to be on the same page. If your mom is at all reticent, she will NOT be pleased when the yorkie starts peeing on her rugs! Good luck. |

Absolutely! Olivia has only been with us a little over a week. Because I took time off from work to be with her after she got home, we've really bonded. This weekend, she was laying with my boyfriend on the couch and I was sitting across the room on the chair. I got up and went into the kitchen and Olivia got upset and started barking because she couldn't get to me. I love that! She's my baby, and it's so much different than having a family dog. | |
