| Yorkie Coat Hey, Just wondering if anyone has a older yorkie who has maintained most of his black coat? My Rocky is 9 months old and still has all blackish blue back with tan legs and chest and face, a little grey also. There are a few grey hairs on his back but not noticable from a distance. Is it safe to say he will stay this way? I hear it takes up to 2 year for the coat to fully change. Just owndering if anyone has a yorkie that still has his gold and black mixture. Thanks |

| Thanks for the welcome and the replies. The thing is that Rocky also has the top of his head black to. None the less I hope he stays the way he does now cause his black coat is sooo shiney and silky. After a bath hes all clean and his coat his so soft you dont want to let go lol |

| lol your right, thats why after a bath I get all the cuddling I can then send him off to get dirty. The thing I hate is everytime I brush the little bugger hes in heaven, sits still does not move. Once im done he always and I mean every single time Ive brushed him he would turn on his back and roll around on the ground LOL gotta love it though |

| Mackenzie is actually getting ready to get a "puppy cut" soon....her body gets cut pretty short...but I leave the hair on her head kinda long, and deffinately long enough to keep the top knot..its a really cute look

| Lacy stayed dark in color. Her face is almst a reddish-gold and her back is black (although in the light almost has a blue sheen to it). But I would call her Black and Gold. No shaving here - I much prefer a medium to long coat on a yorkie

| The Yorkshire Terrier Standard calls for a steel blue coat on the back. Tan on the legs and belly and a head that clears completely gold/tan but when looking for a pup alot ask the quality of the gold coming in... If they have pups the pigment can change and the steel blue usually gets lighter.
