| Very upset :(! Hi everyone! Ive been a lil sore the last 2 days I got my wisdom taking out so Ive been kinda out of it so I asked my mom to take care of lola for a few days since shes still a puppy and needs lots of play time and what not... well my mom called me today and said I was taking lola for a walk and this lady had a yorkie that look just like lola so i stopped over and was talking to her and what not.. then my mom told me how the lady bascially said lola was a mix yorkie because she is already 5 pounds at 5 months and because her ears are not up... this lady said under no circumstances can she be all yorkie because she is so big and her ears are not up when my mom said her yorkie looked exactly the same and was 7 months old... I dunno Ive posted threads before about weight and ears and I love my baby so much and it just hurts that people tell me she is not all yorkie and that lady could be so mean to my mom .. it makes me believe she isnt but I dont care either way how big she is or ears up or not I love her so much and I know shes a yorkie. I dont care what other people think... but this remark just hurt this time ... I dunno I just wanted to share this everyone Im very upset and hurt ...

| hey brush that mess off!! You have to realize everyone is not knowledgable about yorkies..especially those that have none!!! or have no intentions of getting one!!! You on the other hand have taken pains to research and get the knowledge you need to get your baby so its like a person who has never flown a plane before telling a seasoned pilot how to fly to Mexico!!! LOL Love your baby and don't feed into people who act like they know all and no NOTHING!!!!

| Maybe this will make you feel better (read the last line in particular) The Yorkshire Terrier had its beginnings as a breed in the Yorkshire, Manchester and Leeds counties in the northern part of England. The weavers of Scotland brought their families and dogs with them when they left their homeland. The Industrial Revolution had forced them out of work. The time was the mid 19th century, 1860’s and 1870’s. The dogs that accompanied these families were for the most part the sturdy Scottish Terrier. The Paisley and Clydesdale Terrier’s bloodlines were probably also included in the bloodlines. These were all working men’s dogs, used to keep the vermin under control in the textile mills and coal mines. What bloodlines were used to establish the Yorkshire Terrier is subject to much speculation, due to the fact that the breeders of these dogs did not write down who was bred to whom. If they liked the spirit and looks of the dogs, they mated them. It was chancey at best. It is guessed that the Yorkshire county miners crossed the Black and Tan English Terrier, this dog was rough-coated, and the long-coated, blue-gray Waterside Terrier breeds were infused in the Scottish Terriers. The Maltese and Skye Terrier are also possibilities. In 1865, the foundation sire of the Yorkshire Terrier breed, was born. Huddersfield Ben was owned by M.A. Foster, and he enjoyed a very public life, to popularize the breed in England. He demonstrated that he was very successful in the rat killing contests (these were quite popular in the 19th century), and he won more than 70 prizes as a show dog as well. In 1872, the Yorkshire Terrier was introduced into the United States, and was recognized by the AKC in 1878. But it wasn’t until the 1930’s that the Yorkshire Terrier took on its modern look. It is important to note that the Yorkshire Terrier up until the 1930’s usually weighed approximately 30 pounds, not the 3 to 7 pounds it does today. |

| Don't let uneducated people upset you. How many of us knew, as much as we know now, about yorkies before YT? The fact theat they are uneducated about yorkies, does not make them "Bad" people. I had a fellow yorkie owner ask me if my yorkies were minatures. I said there are no minature yorkies. She disagreed with me. I said all yorkies are in the "Toy" group, regardless of their size, but they cannot be shown if they are over 7 pounds. She did not know this. Now she does. There are many breeders out there that do not know that they don't have "Teacup Yorkies" They bought "Teacups" they bred "teacups" therefore they believe that they are selling "teacups" |

| This is my first post, but I just wanted to chime in. I have a yorkie pup that is already 7 lbs and is nowhere near full grown yet. I expect she'll end up being about 10 lbs when she is an adult. I purposely chose the biggest pup in the litter; I wasn't after a show-dog, I have a lot of friends with bigger dogs that sometimes play a little rough, I live in a more rural area, and I hope to have children within the next 15 years, so I wanted my dog to be a bit more of a rough and rowdy terrier than a tiny, delicate little thing. There were other pups in the same litter that were much littler than she is and will probably stay closer to 5 or 6 lbs-- but she's certainly just as much a yorkshire terrier as her brothers and sisters. There's just more of her to love. Don't let people get to you. |

| Don't let ignorant people get you down. Obviously she does not understand that yorkies that look different, can san still be yorkies. Just as people who look different are no less of a person than another. Take this woman, for instance...for her to make an incredible STUPID remark like that does not mean that she's not a person. It just shows that the range of ignorance and stupidity among humans is as common as the range of differences among yorkies. By the way, I have two large pure bred yorkies who both have floppy ears. Just more to love...

| I'm sorry...about your tooth and that not so bright lady Yorkies come in all different sizes, colors, features and shapes-like humans! Your yorkie perfect the way she is! Don't let one silly woman put you down with her ignorant comments. You should find out where she lives and put yorkie poop in her mailbox!

| I don't know why people have to say such things! Whether they think them or not, they don't have to say it. Makes you wonder if their mothers taught them ny manners. Why would anyone want to purposely hurt someone's feelings, especially when you don't even know them or anything about them? I am so sorry this has happened to you (and several others), just don't worry about it. They are the ones missing out. You have a beautiful yorkie to love.

| Yorkies come in all sizes! EVEN IF your baby was a mix...she still should have had a bit more class and tact and kept her mouth zipped! Your baby is precious! |
