| Curly haired yorkie?!? Okay...so I thought it was just because of the length of his hair...but after looking at everyone's pictures I'm not so sure. My 6 year old yorkie has...curly hair. And yes, he is pure bred. He is registered with the AKC. When he gets wet his hair looks like a BAD perm...and it doesn't get much better when it dries... Does anyone else have a curly haired yorkie???

| I have a good friend that has a yorkie with very curly hair. I used to tell her he was a yorkiepoo and sometimes call him "Poodle" (just joking with her)...she actually calls him "Doodle" sometimes because of it as a nickname. When his hair gets kindof long it gets very poofy. She will keep in in a very short cut but lets it get a little out of hand before grooming him again. Some yorkies just have wavy or curly hair - technically by AKC standard it's a fault and not comformationally correct but a yorkie can have curly hair and still be a purebred yorkie. A lot of yorkies don't meet the standard but are still purebred. I see a ton of maltese with curly hair (supposed to be straight)- I can hardly tell now if a dog is actually a maltese or a maltese/poodle mix most of the time. Yorkies can come in all shapes and sizes

| maggie has a patch on her back that is very curly. it drives me nuts but i am hoping it is just still puppy hair. most of her hair is pretty straight, but there is this one patch.... in the second picture you can really tell the different textures on her back. this was right after a hair cut and good brushing.

| I groomed a curly haired one last week. I try to dry it straight. It worked for awhile. But!!! after about 10 min it begin to look like a poodle that needed a good comb picking..LOL I laugh so hard and my new styling do. It look like something out of the 70"s I rewashed him and dryed him cruly..He looked very handsome

| Bernie is REALLY curly. I blow dry him straight after every bath, then he just looks really wavy I'll post pics of him without a blowdry if I can find any.
