| Yorkie puppy needs help I just bought a yorkie puppy from a breeder in Louisiana, the puppy is only 5 weeks old and is not ready to go home yet but I went yesterday to visit at the breeder's house. While I was there she told me that the dog on the pen next to the one my puppy's litter was in had chewed through the wood separating the two litters and tried to pull one of the puppies through. The dog accidentally bit the puppy's leg off and the entire leg had to be amputated to save it from infection. The vet has the puppy on antibiotics and says since the puppy is so young it should still be able to walk somewhat normally because it will just learn to walk with three legs. I would love to adopt this puppy but since I am already getting one and it is my first yorkie I don't want to commit to something that I can't handle. Does anyone have any advice for me about whether or not I should adopt this puppy or does anyone know someone near Louisiana who would be interested in the puppy? My breeder did not ask me to do this but I really want this puppy to have a good home. |

| OMY! Bless you for wanting to take care of this baby... as long as there is no infection, I see no reason why the baby couldnt live a happy life... we had a pup live for MANY years a "tripod".. he never missed a beat... You are RIGHT in my neck of the woods... good luck with your baby! d

| You should get the puppy. The breeder will probably give it to you for free and it will need its littermate to help it and be there for it. Let us know if you get it or not. |

| I'm in LA also, west-central. I think you should give the little guy a chance! Hubby would dis-own me if I even mentioned it.....he says "I was ok with 1 dog; I was ok with 2 dogs; I was ok with 3 dogs;....poor guy, now we have 5! Go for it! and keep us informed! |

| How many litters does she have that they are kept in wood pens? Are they outside? Was it another yorkie that did this?

| Its not the fact that the yorkie has only three legs that spoiled pup is worried, its the fact that she's already taking one puppy, and this would be another puppy in addition. Its also her first yorkie. If I were you, I wouldn't take the second puppy, unless you really want to. Its overwhelming enough to have one yorkie puppy for the first time, but to take in a second one would be difficult. I'm not in the area, so I don't know anyone that would want this puppy, but I'm sure you could find one here on YT. Good luck!

| The breeder is not asking any payment for the dog she just wants it to have a loving home. |

| You should get at least a 25% discount! Ok sorry...bad taste. I hope you can work it out! I think you would be happy with 2 yorkies! We would love to get another one! Oliver NEEDS another yorkie to keep up with him. My older dog has zero patience for him and all he wants to do is play with her! LOL They would be so cute together! Brooke |
