| Are you poisoning... your pets w/o knowing it??...I was watching Good Morning America & they where talking about HUGE amounts of lead in our garden hoses....they said NOT to ever drink from a hose or fill your dogs dish from a hose....it gets even worse if the water has been sitting in the hose & the sun has been heating it up...there are lead free hoses out there this link has a few mentioned... I am guilty of filling up the dogs bowl outside.....I thought if I let it run first it was ok, but it is not....lead it very toxic ...their bowls will be filled up in the house from now on... http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/nwgard...ml?source=mypi GMA didn't have the article posted yet so I found this one that had some brands & types to look for....

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | that worried me - my girls don't drink water outside unless Chanel is playing in the hose....I'm going to have to check into what kind of hose I have - I wish they had pictures. |

| Thanks for sharing this info...I didn't know this! Luckily, we don't do use to hose to fill their bowls but now I am freaked out about my children playing in their inflatable pool. We always fill it with the water hose...in fact, it even has a hole in it where you can put the hose through to make it spray the kids while playing in the pool. I am definitely going to check into a lead free hose!! Thanks again~ Tammy |

| There are safe hoses out there...they should state right on them safe for drinking...they said hoses for RV's are good.....I would be concerned also if my kids whee in a kiddy pool, you know how they put water in their mouths... the link provided lists 4 brands that are safe.... My DH saw this news cast & now he wants to replace our hoses.lol

| Thanks for posting this. I have heard this before that people should not drink from hoses, but I don't know if my husband is filling the water bowls from the hose. I have sent him this info.

| I knew about this, but only because I'm into gardening somewhat. It's good info to keep out there every once in awhile to remind people of the dangers that lurk in everyday products.

| It's bad enough if the dogs bowl is filled.....but I've seen kids drinking from a hose....I need to tell the GK kids that if I see you drinking from that hose I'm gonna use it on you..

| THanks for the link! We were just about to buy a new hose so I am SO HAPPY I saw this beforehand! I found one of the hoses listed in the article at lowes.com and it's only $11.00. Here's the link: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...77-LOMC12025FM |

| Wow, thanks for the information. I didn't know this. I have a Golden Retriever that just loves to drink right from the hose as we spray it in the air. |
