| dog parks Does anyone take there Yorkie to the Dog parks. I take Deiter to puppy day care and he loves it, he plays with big and little dogs. So the other day when he kept misbehaving I took him to the dog park. They have 3 sections. The 1 area had a couple of Yorkies, Pugs, and some little puppies, Then there was a puppy that was German Shepard. Well the German Shepard was 9 mons old so that tells you about how big he is. He kept coming up to Deiter and he didn't want to play with him because he was playing with the Yorkies. Deiter had had enough of him. So I said to the owner that Deiter was getting upset with his and he said I am not worried you have such a little dog that he has nothing to worry about. So I said ok, Then the German Shepard kept bugging Deiter again. Well guess what Deiter took that German Shepard down. Bit him on the lip. And that dog cried. The owner said I didn't realize that you those little dogs would do that. I said neither did I and I am so sorry. He said no big deal. You did warn me. That was the first time Deiter ever did anything like that. Then the man said now that is like David and Goliath and laughed. I asked where I take him to puppy day care if he has ever been like that there. They said know but sometimes dogs give out a scent to another dog that will tell them (dogs) they want know part of them. Has anyone ever heard of that before. Thanks for listen. |

| Dogs use body language to communicate. A dog will know if another dog doesn't want to be bothered. And they usually back off. But some dogs do it anyway. Or if they are puppies they are too young to really know any better. One of my dogs does not like other dogs. I work at a shelter and we get a lot of dog aggressive dogs in there. I would never take one of my dogs to a dogpark because some people will bring aggressive dogs in there and let them run up to your dog. Plus all the germs you don't know if the other dogs are vaccinated. |

| I dont really take mine to dog park or where there are other dogs. They enjoy just walking or playing in their yard and I know they are safe and not going to catch all of these doggy flu viruses that are out there. |

| I took Maddie a couple of times to the dog park and all she did was walk around sniffing the ground. She ended up sick with tonsillitis shortly after that and I decided I won't be taking her or Libby there anymore. My daughter has taken her yorkie there and all he did was walk around sniffing the ground too. LOL

| Lacy has been to a few dog parks. She usually has a lot of fun! I don't really like the one here because they don't have a separate small dog area. She had an incident with a boxer recently - it pinned her down and bit her abover her eye. Luckily she wasn't hurt. And last time she went she didn't like a husky there (she hates huskies for some reason). That's why I wish there was a small dog area... She normally does well though.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | I guess it can be true cause one time we went to a yorkie meetup and there was this male yorkie that kept following Teddy and trying to hump him. Teddy just kept ignoring him and walking away. The dog kept doing it, finally Teddy had enough and growled at him and they were growling at each other. I had to grab Teddy and the yorkie's owner had to grab him. The other dog wasn't neutered either so i guess that was part of the problem.

| There is a yorkie meet up group here and one day they posted that they would be there at a certain time. I was probably 15-20 minutes late and I drove around and didn't see any yorkies at the park. On the other side of the park was a sign that said doggy park. I walked in and there were still no yorkies, just one pug. He kept trying to play with Kodak but he was a little rough and Kodak kept growling. I waited for a while and thought maybe the yorkie meetup was canceled. By then 4 other big dogs came in and my pups were trembling so I left. I really wanted them to play with other pups.

| My dogs all love to go to the dog parks. If another dog keeps pestering them then they will growl and snap at the other dog or chase them off. Both of the dog parks close to me have a separate small dog area. Most dogs will eventually snap at another dog who is not listening to their body langauge of "stop it". |
