| Does anyone have a yorkie that doesn't play? Otis just doesn't really play that much. He runs the fence with the neighbor dog and sometimes will run and play with Oliver, but he doesn't play with toys. Does anyone else have dogs that aren't interested in toys or don't play that much? Any suggestions. I can try to get him fired up and he gets the waggy tail and start to play bite at me, but then Oliver tries to get involved and Otis will walk away. Ollie tries to play too rough with Otie so he just ignores him most of the time. I'll take any suggestions you have.

| I do, I do! My Riley doesn't play very often...it took him about a year to really play with Jo. sure, he would grab a toy and hold it in his mouth but if you took it from him he'd just stand there and look ar you like 'well, why did you do that?'. We bought Riley to be Jo's playpal but that plan sure backfired on us! He's just now, at 2 years old, beginning to play with Jo and he'll bring a toy to us to play fetch a few times but then he's done. Riley would rather be a pampered little prince than a terrier! |

| Louie doesnt really play either. He doesnt spend much time outside with the other dogs. He would rather just lay around and watch everyone or come and pster me for a bunch of attention. |

| Sugar really doesn't play with any of her toys. She came w/ a basket of toys, but she just isn't interested in them at all. I'm thinking about trying a Kong, my last dog loved hers w/out any food in it, but I'm not sure Sugar will play with one. She will very rarely chew on a toy for a few seconds if my daughters hand her one, but she could easily live w/out ever seeing another toy. She does love to zoom around the backyard occassionally w/ her ears sticking out like wings. I'd love for her to have something that she loved to play with. She's happy & content though so I guess I should just be glad that she's so calm & she doesn't make messes w/ her toys.

| I had this problem too with my female (which is two years old now ) she would not play with anything until recently. One day we were at the petstore and it dawn'ed on me that Candee is small so maybe I should try little stuff. Your not going to believe this but I bought her cat toys and she LOVES them She will not part with her little soft crinkly ball And she loves feathers and all other fluffy or crinckly stuff (things cats play with), very weird.. I'v always said she looks like a cat

| The first picture she was waiting and barking for her fluffies, and the second one she got them and was so happy P.S. I'm very careful about watching her while she plays with her fluffies so she does'nt accidentally pull any of them off and swallows them

| Weird my friends dog doesnt like playing with toys either... i thought it was because she never really exposed any toys to her dog.. but after reading this thread i guess im wrong .. prob just the dogs personality.. hahah sometimes i wish princess wasnt so hyper and playful, esp when i have no energy when i come home.. everything to her is a game.. even going downstairs is a game because she runs wildly ahead thinking its a race.. |

| Corabel rarely plays. She will occasionally play with a toy or with Rupert for up to 5 minutes early in the morning and then nothing. She isn't the least bit interested in any of the multitudes of toys nor does she like the ball or a Kong, etc. She likes to go for a walk but hardly ever runs. She much prefers to sit quietly. When Rupert plays ball with my husband, she sits and watches but never tries to join in. I'm glad to hear it is probably just her personality; I thought maybe she just hadn't had the opportunity to play as a baby! |

| Gypsy is not one to play much. She would rather be held. When my dtr brings Gremlin (her yorkie) up to visit Gypsy usu sits on my lap or her dad's watching "that boy" run around chasing a ball. She has lots of toys that she keeps scattered. We put them on the bottom shelf of our nightstand and she has to take them out and scatter under the bed.

YT 500 Club Member | Since we only have one Yorkie (or dog for that matter), Sophie doesn't have anyone to play with. Occasionally she will bite on the cat, but not much anymore. She has a whole basket full of toys, and occasionally she will pull them out. This seems to happen around 9:00 pm for some reason. Otherwise, she does not play with them much. She won't fetch, and she will only play with us occasionally. Now that she is six, she rather just lay around where we are. She does love to go for a walk though.
