Yorkies tails! I live in the UK, but I notice most people on this forum come from just about everywhere else. I love your photos but have noticed that the yorkies have docked tails..is it still legal elsewhere? In the UK it isn't, and my Tilly (3) is the first yorkie I have had with a tail! It is very handy:- she plays with it when she is bored when laying on her back snoozing she curls it up between her legs..because she is a lady! when disappearing under a bush after a cat her Mum can catch her tail to stop her!

| That is too funny...I had never seen an undocked tail until I came to YT. Several members here have them--I am not sure where they are from, though. Both of my furbabies tails are docked.

[QUOTE=Jan L.;1221288]Thank you so much for the best laugh I've had in days. What a great sense of humor you have.[/QUOTE I am glad I made you smile I am actually very sad we lost out sheepie on Saturday and she wasnt even 6 years old. Tilly keeps expecting her to appear. We have just been to vets and I brought her collar back and lead without thinking I hung it up on the hook and Tilly was sniffing it and wagging her tail. She really misses her big Mum as everyone does.

awww...I am sorry to hear about your sheppie. I bet Tilly misses her alot. You will need to get another buddy for her to play with. I think alot of the people over here that have dogs with undocked tail had them imported. I have one with no tail at all. The vet wasnt familiar with where to dock them and said he read the book and cut it where the book told him to and now she has no tail, just a nub. The next litter I made sure he knew exactly where to cut it and I would rather have them a little long than no tail at all although she does stay alot cleaner on her hiney with no tail to get in the way.

Yes, it is still legal here in the US and a docked tail is still part of the called for standards. It is done here on pups within the first 5 days.
