| When does the chewing stop? Kalina is really, really good most of the time. She has learned to sit and it only took me mere minutes to teach her. I have also taught her to shake hands. She insists on giving me her left paw. She sleeps like an angel all night long in her crate. The housetraining isn't really happening yet, but it's not too bad either. We "catch" her most of the time. She is feisty and loves to play and she is absolutely adorable. The other day someone told me that it should be illegal for any puppy to be that cute. So, you ask, what's the problem? Chewing...eating the wrong things. Attached is a photo of just some of the stuff I have removed from Kalina's mouth since we got her. When she is outside I have to watch her constantly and I can't relax for a second. I'm afraid she's either going to choke or swallow something that will have to be surgically removed. You can see in the picture that I have removed a golf tee, piece of a zipper, a dehydrated piece of waffle, the skeleton of a big bug, and lots of other things. We have removed enough sticks from her mouth to start a small fire. She eats the flowers right off of their stems. Is this normal behavior? It's not just sometimes it is constantly. When does it stop?

| It will vary by yorkie. Some will be greatly improved by one year of age.

| I also noticed an improvement by 1 yr. Loki destroyed chew toys, bones, etc. Finally we found Bully Sticks! Even though he still loves sticks, his chewing has tapered off a lot. At least we were able to teach him not to chew on OUR stuff. Good luck!

| We are in the same boat with our now 15 week old, Nina. She eats the flowers in my garden. She looks so cute with a mouth full of petals. Not so cute keeping her from munching on the mulch and sticks in our yard. We have bought so many chew toys for her, but nothing seemed to relieve her need to chomp like the bully stick or the raw hyde our vet gave her. The biting of our skin is another difficulty we have going on. The first time I sprayed on Bitter Apple, it worked, after that not so much. We will just wait it out until she gets through her teething phase as best as we can (though with lots of ouchies!)

| It does get better when they are done teething, but if you have a chewer now they will usually always like to chew. If your pup likes bully sticks, try the no smell Pixie Stix from www.beyondspoiled.com that YT member KathrynV sells. They last a long time and there really is no disgusting smell!!!
