IS something wrong?? Chewy has always been a ball of energy. No one could keep up with the amount of playing she was always ready for. Well this month I moved out of my parents house and in with my boyfriend. I am also off from school and work for 2 months so I am spending A LOT more time with her than we usually do. She seemed to adjust to our apartment really quick, found her wee wee pad with no issues, found her favorite new chair to lay in....But she has become reallllllyyyyyy sleepy. She turned 1 in April so I dont know if its normal that she calms down but it just seemed really drastic to me. Its not really hot yet, she is eating and drinking well even started gaining some weight (Shes about 7.3 lbs) Sorry if it seems like a lot of info but i am really concerned. Thanks in advance , any advice would be great. Chewy's sound asleep on the couch near me and if i wake her up she just re-adjusts and falls right back asleep.

| It's possible she's a bit depressed. Yes. Yorkies get depressed, too. She may be missing your parents. Have you attempted to get a ball and ask her if she wants to play? All I have to do is ask mine if she wants to play ball and she runs in and grabs one of her balls and is ready! Did she have a fenced-in yard at your home? Perhaps she needs a bit more outside time and attention.

She has seen my parents about 3 times a week. I drop her off at their house when we go grocery shopping and they have stopped by a few times. We have also had a bunch of friends over on a few nights so she gets plenty of attention. Thanks for your help but I have the one dog in the world who hates to play fetch. She created her own version of it....I grab something to throw and she runs to bring it back but then REFUSES to let go of it unless we play tag for as long as it takes me to trick her and get it back.....could take hours....so then she fetches it again but sits down to chew it but just far enugh so that its out of my reach....She doesnt understand that she should LET GOOO!!!!! LOL

No she didnt have a yard...We go outside everyday and yesterday even went to a park in LI. She had lots of fun there and only took one short nap. She had a blast though...she has never seen a lake before and accidently ran, freaked out and ran back out. I didnt let her go near the water anymore because it was pretty chilly here...about 70 and windy.

Not to scare but just to let you know, my friend has a scotie that became very sleepy and lost her spank still gained weight and looked like she didn't have enough energy. She was ok otherwise but was not herself as before. After a while my friend took her to vet and they did blood check and found some disease that is transfered with tick bites (not lyme though, i forgot name). Now she is on antibiotic and seems doing fine. Just keep in mind. I hope your baby is ok and it's just a bit of depression. Just found it online - Ehrlichiosis. Pretty scary, so keep an eye on your baby.

IS something wrong? Marina, Gracie became very sleepy and unlike herself last spring. She wouldn't even chase her ball (her favorite activity) but just laid on the sofa and slept. After a few days I became concerned (even though she was eating fine) and took her to the vet. Turns out her anal glands were full and causing discomfort! I couldn't believe it. The vet hit the nail right on the head. As soon as he expressed them (internal glands--groomers expres the external ones but by law in our state are not allowed to do the internal ones--who knew?), she was immediately back to her old self--even chased a ball around the vet's office.

Is she used to being alone most of the day?? My Yorkie stays home by herself for about 9 hours a day while my bf and i are at work. When i get home there's usually no stopping her, she's just insane. I recently took some time off of work and noticed that all Bailey wanted to do all day was sleep. I was worried too but then thought that that's what she must've been doing all that time i was at work. She was just used to sleeping all day until we got home. She was always perked up again towards the late afternoon so i just realized that that was her normal schedule. Sleep all day and then be crazy when we got home. Maybe this is what's happening with your baby??
