Do all Yorkies do this or do I have the Yorkie who cried wolf ? I know he must have gotten hurt , but I cant stand this crying - I get scared and panic-y !!! NO MORE letting him walk around freely - he will always be leashed and within reach .....ok, I had a drink , trying to calm down .... MY POOR BABY !!!!!!! |

| Look at it this way; wouldn't it hurt if someone stepped on you?

| He's crying because he just got stepped on!!! You may want to get him to a vet. He may not have any broken bones but could have internal bleeding. So when you say he is crying like he is dying, he very well could be. Keeping him constantly on a leash is not the answer. This is the second time he has been stepped on? Wow, poor baby. Anyone with a Yorkie puppy quickly learns to do what I call the "Yorkie Shuffle". Learn to shuffle your feet when you walk, put a bell on him, and always watch where you walk. Sorry if I'm coming across as rude. I don't mean to be but stepping on your puppy is very very serious. Get him to a vet and learn the Shuffle. Hope he's okay.

| As I said, I didn't mean to come across as rude. But you said "I know he must have gotten hurt , but I cant stand this crying" My compassion was for him. I understand that accidents happen but surely you can understand why he is crying. I thought that he was inside when he got stepped on. Thanks for clarifying. Keeping him on a leash like you said is a good idea when outside. Just keep a close eye on him because he could still have internal injuries.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | To be honest - he isn't doing that to make you feel bad - he obviously DID get hurt and since you said this was the 2nd time....please be careful - I don't want to scare you but small dogs can die from being stepped on. someone right here lost their little puppy when her boyfriend stepped on him What I would do is try to keep him away from anything until he gets big enough to get out of the way by himself. I hope he's ok - but when they cry like that .....they're telling you something. Poor baby. |

| When We Got Harvey My Daughter Accidently Stepped On Him, And He Squeeled So Bad And Ran Under The Table. When We Picked Him Up And Checked Him He Calmed Down. I Took Him To The Vet To Be Checked Because It Frightened Us So Much - He Was Fine And Recovered Very Quickly. What It Taught Us Was To Be Extra Extra Careful With Him, As I Am Sure It Will With You. I Am Sure He Will Be Ok.

| my yorkie does that all the time. especially with my son. I dont know if his hair gets pulled or if he is sick of my son always touching him (my son is a 13 year old only child) i dont know if my song pinches him accidently or if Ryo is just annoyed at him.. I just check him really well cause sometimes i am looking at my son and i know he didnt do anything.. I just check and make sure there are no old sore spots or new ones I have come to figure that the squeel is gonna be the same whether u hurt them a little or a lot. I just Give my Ryoko a second, I watch his walk and make sure he aint limpin... and then i pick him up after a few minutes and rub and pet him secretly checking for sore spots... i know if ur like me u cant afford to run to the vet for every little thing.. just like my son doesnt go to the doctor everytime he falls on the ground .. good lovin and TLC checks will do the trick.. I know as a mom you will KNOW when there is something wrong... |

Excessive crying is a sign of pain. They don't cry like that if they're just hurt a 'little' and I don't want to sound like a jerk here but you can't compare a puppy to a human child - a child can tell you what's wrong - a dog can't. I'm not saying rush a pet to the vet for every single whimper - but when a dog cries like she posted - it sure sounded to me like he was hurt....but I do agree common sense should always apply - we know our dogs better than anyone.

| Learn the yorkie shuffle and watch where you step. They are very little. I can't imagine how much it would hurt to have a human step on me if I were a little yorkie.

| It might help to get a breakaway collar with some bells on it, like they make for cats Then you'll KNOW where he is at all times I hope your baby is just fine!
