| Diatomaceous Earth (DE) Ive been searching threads, i need a indoor solution for flea prevention. Louie doesnt have fleas but i noticed a few tiny red bumps, jus outta assumption im thinking they might be flea bites since Frontline doesnt prevent fleas from biteing. I was just wondering has anyone used this "Diatomaceous Earth (DE)"? Ive heard alot about Borax but id opt for a nontoxic solution if theres one available

| I bought this from Perma Guard... it was the food grade type....I put in their beds & on my carpet, I did try it once on the dogs but I put it in wrong, I just put it IN his hair & his hair felt dry so I washed it out after a few days ....later I reread the directions & it said to get it ON THE SKIN ,so I needed to part his hair then put it on, it does state that it does take longer for the flea ( or any bug ) to die because they are cut by the D.E. & they have to leak their body fluids out ... it works physically not chemically as in a pesticide.... I can't really say how well it worked for me because it was my fault for not being consistent w/ the product...but I still use it...so far no fleas, but I do bathe them in Neem shampoo also....I guess I didn't really answer your ?

| D. E.is perfectly safe...we eat it ourselves w/ o knowing it , it is used all the time in grain silos to control meal worms & such...there are different grades of D.E. I only buy FOOD GRADE ..to us it feels like a soft powder but under a microscope it looks jagged, so it cuts a bug.. http://www.perma-guard.com/
