| Fleas..how do they get them I'm sorry is this a stupid question..but where do fleas live?..is it in the woods or can they jump from another dog?..I let Maximus roll in the grass yesterday while I was taking him for a walk in front of my apartment..and I fidn't even stop to think about fleas or ticks..bad me..I am going to the vet tomm. to get the final lyme..can I ask to be put on flea medicine (advantage or frontline)..or is it too early..he is 14 weeks? I checked him yesterday and everything looked okay but could he have gotten a flea or tick?..he started scratching this morning..but I looked again and nothing?

fleas can jump from dog to dog. they can get on you then jump on your dog once your in the house. squirrels can also have ticks and fleas. i found a tick on nala just the other day and we thinks it b/c there have been a lot of squirrles in our yard this year.

He should be old enough for the flea medicine. Asia was giving it by our vet at 10 weeks.

Nala goes to the groomer's once a month and they use frontline on her and it works really well for us. We also have some Adams Flea Off that we bought when our other dog out and went for a walk in the woods across the street and that also worked really good.

frontline rocks! Let me just say that since we started Pippa on frontline, we've seen narry a flea. That stuff is great. Treat them once a month and you are flea free. I believe it works on ticks, too because we took Pippa for a walk at a new nature trail in our area last night-we saw bunnies, frogs, other dogs-it was really exciting....anyway, when she got home, she shook and 3 ticks fell off of her-I found another one attached later, but it was dying. She loved the walk, but I don't know if I can tolerate the tick shakedown after!! LOL

I had baby bunnies in the garden a couple of weeks ago. One was headed right for my white shepard so I had to pick it up and put it back in the garden. It was COVERED in fleas. All of the outside critters have them. Frontline is great. Also, it is going to sound like I get a kick back from this stuff, by Brewers Yeast is not only good for the skin and coat of your pet, but also repells fleas because there is garlic in it. We also treat our yard.
