| need some advice Yesterday Kai's ears flopped over agian! I have taped them twice for a week and them seem to stand on thier own for about 2 months before they flop over agian. Do I keep taping them? Will they ever stand on thier own for more then 2 months? She turned 7 months old tuesday. Thanks for any advice!!

| Is the hair on her ears shaved or trimmed? I think taping of the ears works when the yorkie is much younger, at this age you might just need to keep them trimmed. Trimming/shaving my yorkies ears always did the trick. Good luck!

YT Addict | I think the mussels in their ears are sometimes weak. My Gidget flops hers when she gets stressed, her sister never held her ears up and my daughter taped way to late. Be careful cause my daughters yorkie got sores on her ears from the tape. I shaved Gidgets ears and took the tape out at night and massaged them, then replaced it. I too think this needs to be done at an early age |

| Whem we bought Maximus from the breeder his ears were taped up because they were flopping..since that day I have never been able to bring myself to tape them..and they are still floppy..the vet said to massage them for a few mintues a day, but that they are usually set by 6 months...since he is almost 4 months and massages have done nothing..I have pretty much resigned to floppy ears.. (I think they look adorable like that anyways..)

I agree! Tucker also has one up & one down. When I took him to the groomer last time - I asked them not to trim the ears! I was afraid they would pop up!

| It is so frustrating when you want them to stand and they wont!! Rios ears stood when he was a puppy for about the same amt of time and then they flopped over, I couldnt bring myself to tape them again so he has floppy ears permanently at 3. At 7 mths I just don't know. |

| Give them some calcium either in med form or cottage, and trim their ears.

| My Roxy's ears were floppy until I took her to the groomer when she was six months old, I brought her in with floppy ears and she came home with perky ears! They told me that they "tipped" her ears, they've been standing ever since . |

| Muffin's ears would never stay up at the ends and I thought she was so cute. We have a new one now (I ought to go post a pic) and before we brought her home I told her owner not to tape her ears. I love those floppy ears. |
