| I'm a horrible mommy! I have family coming to town today so of course I wanted my babies to look their very best. I wasn't aware that I was going to hurt my baby in the process. I just thought I'd trim up the hair on their ears, after I gave them their baths. I had my daughter hold Abbie's head so I can trim the hair and she wouldn't move on me. Well, I was cuting this lil piece sticking out of her ear, and she moved and I cut a lil sliver off the side of her ear. OMG, I started to panic. I immediately called my vet and asked what to do, they said to keep some ointment on it, and keep pressure on it. It honestly isn't that bad of a cut, but bad enough to make me hate myself. I feel horrible. She didn't even whine or anything. And it didn't take long for the bleeding to stop. I think I learned my lesson on trimming the ears.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Aww, don't beat yourself up - it's difficult to groom these little babies. I'm sure it's hurting you more than her. I do know how you feel though, hon.

| Girlfriend...meet another horrible mommy. I did the same thing too Murfee about 2 years ago. He didn't whine or cry either but I felt terrible. He has forgiven me though and I sure am more careful when I trim his ears. I'll bet your little baby has already forgotten and forgiven. Patty |

| You are not alone, I did it to Oliver too. about a 1/4 inch slice into the edge of his ear. He didn't even cry out. I didn't know I did it till I saw all the blood, and there was A LOT of blood. I felt terrible, I kept pressure on it for a long time. No wonder he hates it when I groom him.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Don't worry - your not alone. I've done it too, but it was right behind the ear on Brodie. I CRIED!!! I felt soooooooooooooo bad. My husband laughs about it to this day because I almost wrapped his whole head in a bandage for this little slice. I freaked out though!!!! |

| omg, you guys are so wonderful at trying to make me feel better. But, I still can't help but tear up at the thought of it. But knowing that I'm not the only one that has done this, makes me feel better. It means alot to me, to have you all share your situations with me. Thanks so much.

| I remember one time I was trimming the outside edge of one of Muffin's ears and I cut the edge with the scissors. I felt so bad. So, I know just how you feel.

| I dont even have our baby Kirby yet...I am so nervous about making "mistakes"...now I can tell you were being a good mommy doing so with best intentions and you learned from it. Now if something does happen to me and I feel like a bad mommy...I remember that I am not , jsut as you are not. |
