Gracie's Allergy Test Well, Gracie made it thru her allergy test today. She's allergic to all kinds of stuff... just to name a few kind of the humorous ones - cockroaches, cats, and ... human dander! YES, she's allergic to ME!!!! I was taught how to give her her first allergy shot today. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was amazed I was able to give the shot. I have to give her a shot every three days for the next few weeks, then once a week for the rest of her life. Thanks to all who were concerned. Just glad to have her home safely. And boy, did Katie miss her too!

SoCalyorkiLvr - The vet tech at the clinic showed me how to give the shot and watched me give her one. She also provided a sheet of step by step instructions. Believe me, it was very nerve racking! Villette - Gracie sends you and your girls hugs. She says she very happy that you're proud of her taking her shots like a big girl. Thanks so much for caring, Villette. You're such a sweet person.

Isn't it amazing how far pet medicine has come. That's great for our fur babies. It is kind of funny they could be human allergic. I, too, hadn't heard of that until yesterday. Thanks you for the kind words. Jamie - Gracie's and Katie's mom.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Well...I think you're BOTH very brave...I know I would have a very hard time giving shots... but to be a good mom I guess we need to learn how to get over these fears - More power to you ! I'm curious....How soon will you be able to tell if they are working ? |

Thanks, Villette. You're right, we have to learn to give shots sometimes to be a good mom. Thanks for the encouragement. She's due her next shot tomorrow and I'm all ready fretting and nervous about it. We may start seeing results anywhere from 4 to 12 months. It takes awhile. Because of that, during this time, she has to be on anti-histamines for comfort and re-checks to the vet to monitor her progress. So, needless to say, Gracie has a credit card all to herself... which she can't afford! So, if Gracie calls Chanel and Cheri inviting them on a shopping spree, you tell them, "NO!", and call me immediately!
