| worried about Cody I'm getting worried about Cody. When we first brought him home two weeks ago, he liked to cuddle, but he also loved to play with us. Slowly though, he's been sleeping more and more and now it seems like that's all he wants to do. He'll follow us into a room, but just to find a place to sleep near us. We take him for walks, but it doesn't seem like he enjoys them very much anymore even though he used to love them. I've never seen a dog's personality change so much so quickly and I'm worried because he's just a baby and puppies usually want to play more than anything else. We thought he was sleeping out of boredom, but if we offer to play with him, he just walks away and lays down. |

| I think I would take him to the vet for a checkup. It doesn't sound normal to me for a puppy to want to sleep that much.

| He was just at the vet on Thursday- he got a distemper shot and she said he looked good. Honestly, he hasn't been the same since that appointment though and he's even turning down food and treats sometimes. edit: he's about 3 months old |

| I don't know, Does anyone know if it could be the shot making him act this lethargic?

| We have an animal emergency hospital here that is open 24 hrs every day. I have called them on weekends when my vet isn't open and they are really helpful with any questions I have when I am worried about my kids. Most of the time they have told me it isn't an emergency and I can wait til the vet is open. Do you have an emergency hospital like this? They may be able to tell you some symptoms after having shots.

| I am going to bump your post although it is extremely hot where you live? Shots do make them feel ill and may run a slight fever.

| Try calling your vet. They might have a recording that tells you a phone number to call in case of emergency. Mine does.

| Just wanted to let you know that my Chewy got his distemper shot a couple of weeks ago. The vet said he might be a little tired and might not be himself the next day. He ended up being like that for the next 3 or 4 days. Wasn't eating much, he even threw up a little a couple of times. I was getting ready to take him in, and my friend said that her dog always gets sick like that when he gets his shot. So I just gave it another day, monitored him, and he got better. You might still want to take him in or call a vet. I hope this helps!

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | sorry to hear cody isn't feeling like himself. I think its just because of the vaccines he received on thursday. They can make some puppies really lethargic. Call your vet tomorrow and let them know he's still really sleepy after his shots and see if they think you should bring him in for a once over.
