| Borzoi & Yorkie Anyone? I was just interested in seeing if anyone does or has ever owned a borzoi and a yorkie at the same time. I am interested in one day rescuing a borzoi but know how powerful their hunting instinct can be with small animals so I wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with this. Thanks a lot.

| No experience with Borzois and yorkies, but Borzois are beautiful dogs! I don't think that there would be a problem with hunting instincts if he was a puppy when you adopted him, but with an adult, he might already have those instincts engrained in his behavior. Are you adopting him from a rescue? I'm sure you could just let the rescue organization know that the dog needs to get along well with small dogs, and there would be one for you.

| Well, I'm not looking to adopt yet but I plan on adopting from a breed rescue. Through research I've found that some do get along with small dogs but I thought I would check here for personal experience. I trust you guys a lot more than a google search!

| I don't know much about borzois, but I get on another forum at www.terrificpets.com and there is someone on there that breeds them. You could probably sign up and post about it there and I'm sure she'd reply to you

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | Since Borzoi's are sight hounds like grey hounds I think it would all depend on the dog. I am looking to adopt a grey hound in the future so i've been doing research and all the rescues i've talked to have said that all their hounds are temperament tested and they live in foster homes so that the rescue will know which ones are good with little dogs and which ones aren't. I'm sure the Borzoi rescue would do the same because they don't want to adopt out to a small dog home without knowing that the dog they place is good with little dogs.

| I know a lady that has both and she shows both of them, doesn't seem like she has any trouble. Borzoi are so graceful. |

| Thanks for the site. I've always had an interest in borzoi's and a love for how beautiful they are. I've really fallen in love with them more and more because I've been working with an extremely difficult borzoi mix at the rescue I work at and I fell head over heels for her. But I couldn't adopt her because she had dog aggression and people aggression so there was no way she could live at my house with 6 other dogs and 7 people. So, I would love to rescue a borzoi one day.
