| Look at the pics-pure breed or not! I love my baby Harlem. As you might know, I live in NY and my finace and my pup live in NC. When I was home in May Harlem weighed almost 3 and a half pds. When I went to NC last week and took him to the vet, he weighed 6 pds!!! I was crazy. He is not even 4 months yet. Clearly, he is going to be a big dog. I never wanted a big dog at all but I love him to death and I can except that. However, I continue to tell the vet how Harlem has kinda turned into a wild lil puppy. The vet states, it's just the poodle in him. Now, I'm confused-WTF! Poodle, I was told he was a pure breed, I have the papers and I have seen the mom and dad dog. I was hurt, I can't lie. So my fiance calls the breeder and she calls the vet and it goes on and on. I must say, nevertheless, I love Harlem regardless and that will never change. I am slightly disappointed because I thought I was getting a pure breed. But deep in my mind, I knew he probably wasn't because when I frist joined this site I looked at all the cute photos of everyone's little pup and I always thought that Harlem didn't quite look like the others. He did but not really. I probably found like 5 other pics of pups that did look like Harlem. I'm getting over it but what do you think. I've included pics! |

| He is just an adorable butter ball. Harlem looks all Yorkie to me but he appears to have some big paws. Maybe a "Teapot" in the brewing |

| i disagree with your vet! he looks like a yorkie to me, and as it happens often he may just be on the bigger size. obviously your vet is not educated in small breeds, there is absolutely no poodle there hun. He might not meet the standard but he does look like a yorkie just to confirm: when you bought your puppy did the breeder have any poodles? that would tell you if there was any possiblity, if she had only yorkies then there is no possibilty for a mix and sometimes that have growth spurts when they are younger and stop growing, and in others they keep growing. my scrappy is the same size as my 6.5lb yorkie, but THICK, and has a LOT of thick heavy hair those to facts alone probably add 2-3lbs on him. and he stopped growing at 5 months |

I don't see poodle in him at all. Maybe the vet is just guessing and he's just what the breeder said ? If you feel the breeder misled you - I'd def check into it - that's fraud and it shouldn't be ignored...there's too many out there passing off all sorts of dogs and calling them purebred. It's just a shame - but I do think he looks like a yorkie... about the wild side - they all go thru that - you can read the training section and find just about anything there to help him learn his limits. | |

| That baby is 100% pure breed yorkshire terrier. Puppys go through a stage when they do not look like a pure breed yorkie but he is. The weight can be attributed to 3 things 1. genetics 2. eating to much 3. not enough activity Not to worry when he gets full grown and his attitude catches up to his size take him back to the vet and ask him again Pure breed or not? There are so many people out there breeding yorkiepoos that some vets don't know the difference. He sure is cute though. I've got a new litter of yorkies that are 10 days old and 1 of my females weights 1lb 3/8 oz already. so don't freak out it will all balance out. |

| looks like a yorkie... smiles like a yorkie, must be a yorkie!!!!! Honestly, I think he looks all Yorkie. The breeder I bought Oscar from still had his brother when I picked up Oscar. He was twice Oscar's size! He looked just like your baby. See the pictures below: 1. Oscar's brother, Levi 2. Your baby, Harlem What do you think?

| I'm not sure what your vet is talking about. That baby looks 100% yorkie to me. Some yorkies are bigger than others...I don't see any poddle in him at all. My yorkie is one of the bigger ones at 11lbs, but he's all yorkie. He might not fit AKC standard, but he is yorkie Your baby is totally adorable!

| He looks like a Yorkie to me..and so cute!!!! I go through this stuff all the time. Granted. My dog does not have any papers as I was blessed one day with him showing up at my place looking for a home.. My vet said he didnt know what he was probably a schnauzer...The groomer cut his hair like a schnauzer.. The whole world (cept for Yorkie talk) refuses to say he is at least..mostly Yorkie..I dont care..I dont care that hes 18 pds and not full Yorkie. But I do understand in your case that you feel you may have been mislead..But BOY...I think he sure looks like a fine yorkie... |

| He looks all yorkie! Don't worry about the size, I think you'll be surprised how small even a larger-sized yorkie is. If there is another breed in him, it is definitely not poodle.
