| Simon is a little hyper so I walk him in the morning and then for a really long walk in the evening. We also play ball with me sitting at one end of the apartment and throwing it all the way down the hallway, he can do that for hours. This is going to sound silly but sometimes I run really fast down the hall into the bedroom and we all jump on the bed. We race to see who can get there first |

| like Simon, Layla has endless energy so i find getting her enough exercise can be tough because she is always ready to go... we play ball until she is too tired to play anymore, when i have to take it away or i think she would play until she killed herself... Layla the heat has been unbearable.. high 90's with humidity... so we are having to stay inside.. otherwise we go outside and play fetch or go for walks... other times she will randomly do "yorkie runs" around the house and we chase her to get her excited! |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | My guys get 20-30 minute walks twice a day, but they can still be kinda lazy in between. I usually try to toss toys for them. Eddie likes fetching more than he likes retrieving, so we play keepaway. A friend with mobility issues says she takes her dogs to an open area and brings out a laser light. The dogs chase it feverishly and get in quite a bit of exercise. I thought that was pretty ingenious.

| Paddington enjoys longggg walks! It takes us about an hour to finish our whole route, but I carry him about halfway he likes to walk with me either way. He also likes to chase people, so I take him into the yard and run around for him to chase me (we have a hill that he likes to run up and down, too) I'm sure that I look like the neighborhood fool running around the yard- they probably can't see Paddington behind me. When it's too hot outside I run around the house dragging a towel behind me for him to chase. It's also been in the 90's here! I took Paddington into the yard with his flexi lead for about 15 minutes this evening, but skipped the walk because it was way too hot for both of us! Make sure your baby gets plenty of water in the heat. I can barely keep our water bowl full because Paddington gets so thirsty! -O

| Jake is very active, he is always playing with toys. I play tug of war with him, he loves that game. He also loves fetch, and we play both of those several times a day. I take him for a walk in the morning, then my hubby takes him for a walk in the eve. He also runs around and plays outside. Tonight, he was trying to catch lightning bugs....too cute! Just got Jake a "Hide-A-Squirrel", and that keeps him busy for long periods of time. He loves it! He takes a few naps during the day and sleeps all night, but he's up and playing for the most part. Plus, he follows me around all day, so he gets lots of exercise. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Sorry to quote myself, lol, but not long after posting this I read a post from a behaviorist on another forum that advised caution having a dog chase a laser light. She said the obsessive dogs she treats need exercise, but she thinks a fruitless pursuit of a light would drive them crazy. Just thought I'd correct myself!

| I'll take spencer for a walk early in the morning during the summer because then im not in school, then play with him and our other dog zoe in the backyard and they chase each other and when it's really hot out i usually wait till about 6:30 or 7:30 pm and then take him for a long walk as well and when we come home he has a drink, eats and makes his bed and he's out for the night lol. and when we're inside he chases me up the stairs then i jump on my bed and he jumps on it and bites my ankles and then licks my legs lol .
